They have the best white bread and sourdough bread. The vegetables, meat, eggs, cheese, milk, and yogurt are all good. Some of the cereal is crap though.

I think it's like what @six5crèéd said, I'm not a sports guy, never was and never will be. I enjoy watching my son play soccer or shooting basketball with him in the driveway, but I can't sit on the couch and watch it on TV. Too many rules and I'd rather be doing something outside or in the garage.

No but I am on station supporting the op. And :rolleyes:39B is in the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge, not near it. Sounds like just about to start chill down now. Go for cold flow momentarily...

Aldi's is the bees knees. It's our go to on almost everything except fruits and some veggies. Their asparagus doesnt age well. Most everything else I'm super happy with, as their prices are 1/2 or 3/8 what Publix are.

Had a buddy who worked at Aldi(no s) 20 years ago when we were in high school. He was making $10+ an hour then stocking, when I was making 7.07 at Kroger bagging. I thoroughly enjoy their business model-everything you need, nothing you dont....

Just watch the highlights. Takes 10 minutes or less and you get the nuggets of action.

We go there for some things. Sometime produce is cheaper or they have something specific that's good.
they carry Chicken Cordon Bleu's at a good price. Them's a 40 minute in the oven, no prep dinner that's delicious

    Good morning Shane and friends.

You guys were busy yesterday and last night, I skimmed through a few of the pages.

Self checkout, I usually hate and avoid because of the weight not registering issues. The one at our local DG works really well which is good since that’s were I now go for demo and razor blades instead of Walmart. No Walmart is much better for my sanity.

Our Dollar Tree is a $1.25 now too and yes, it’s a nicer store than DG but not as convenient to the house.

An Aldi just opened here last week, giving it a few weeks to calm down. Wife has been shopping at Publix for a while. It was very expensive at first but now she’s got a good stockpile of food supplies in our prepper pantry so she just shops the BOGO items mostly. That’s been working out cheaper than Walmart groceries. Better for her sanity too!

Heading out to start trimming on an oak tree.

    Have a great day!

Doesn't everybody love square bodies? I mean, rust really liked them even. Shame too. My 79 K5 was a beast, but everything on it rusted. I think even the plastic rusted on that old girl.

Who is this great and powerful Aldi of which you speak? I've never heard of them. Are they mostly in a specific region of the US or something?

We live 20 minutes from town, so I use Amazon a bit :anonymous:, but otherwise I'll shop at TSC (with is now Peavey Mart in canukistan), or Canadian Tire.

I'm also just as happy to stay home, it's not that I mind going out, it's the almost universal incompetence of staff at stores that seems to be aggravated with age. Having said that, I mostly refuse to use the self checkouts since most cashier's are either sullen and disinterested, or friendly and cheerful. I can bat either way and will follow their lead. :D

The better half shops at small stores for groceries and uses cash whenever she can. When she pays, she even hands out little cards that talk about the benefits of using cash.

Aldi is a German owned grocery, I've only seen them in the southeast. They pay employees well relatively speaking, are generally smaller than other groceries. They dont have 10 options of the same product like publix does but they might have two. The German family that owns them is like the richest family in Europe. They are able to keep prices low by not having 26 people working on a shift, typically only 3-5 for the whole store.
