I just bought a 22 Taco TRD Pro. Will the Pedal Commander from my 2020 4Runner work on the Taco?

Just curious why you want a pedal commander as opposed to getting it tuned. The cost is within $100 of the PC.

EDIT - nevermind, you already have it. Misread your post sorry.

Yeah just curious if it’s compatible. I combed through the website and it doesnt have specs or compatibility.

how does tuning work? What gets adjusted? What type of shops do it?

If you look at the Refurbished ones on their website, it looks like they have different models... PC38, PC24, etc. Depending on your year/engine from your 4Runner, it may not be the same number. That being said, I would reach out to them to make sure there isn't differences in the programming of the PC for different uses, even if the models are the same.

Pedal Commander shows the same part number(pc27) for both the 4Runner and Tacoma

Tuning actually flashes your ECU vs having an add-on module plugged in like the PC. The PC will only correct your accelerator tip-in (sensitivity) while a tune will correct a whole host of drivability issues in addition to the accelerator. Mainly you will notice a difference with shifting being smoother and more predictable, more low end torque, linear acceleration, and greatly reduced gear hunting. There is a link in my signature to our web site that has a bunch of info and FAQs. If you find it's something your interested in then you can look for a tuner in your area.
