Shop Time w/T.W. Friends

Wife comes outside and says , Wow your old truck looks pretty good shined up. We should trade it in for a new one. Ain't no way in hell I'm getting rid of my 1st Gen.

 

The Aldi stores I see are typically 1/8 or 1/16th of a Walmart supercenter. The friend that I knew that worked there worked hard and always hustled. They keep an eye on how many items you scan in an hour, since the customer bags their own. His boss came to him and wasnt happy with his items per hour ratio. Pick it up they said. I still bust his chops about that.

 

If my wife said the same about my 1st gen, I would be to the dealer so fast it would make your head spin.

I like my 1st gen, but I've been driving one for 25 years. I'm ready for a change.

 

I like my old gal. Just a simple truck , not a lot of electronic nanny features.

At our Aldi the manager (50's) is right out there on the floor stocking, mopping, clearing the cardboard and sometimes running the register just like the people he is in charge of. He is a fit looking fellow too.

I don't think most folks mind hustling if your boss is hustling right along with you, the employees seem to stay long term.

 

Mark of a good Manager. Never ask staff to do anything you’re not prepared to roll up your sleeves & do yourself.

 

Going to have to disagree; self-checkouts exist because large retailers have found that in the long-run a computer is cheaper than a person, and they're solely concerned with the bottom line.

Same, ive watched a little hockey here and there. But much rather be tinkering outside

 

That's why I record the games I want to watch so I can fast forward through the commercials.

I got voluntold I had to help with teaching a class at safety days here at work. Comes with fringe benefits, free lunch for 3 days! Can’t beat it!

 

Any of you guys make your own hose clamps? The gear clamp wouldn't fit where I wanted it to. A couple of easy to make tools, some wire, and you can make any size you need.
