    Have a good one drivers.
Actually had a good day yesterday, only 9 hours and no issues. Wish it was like that everyday.

I’m running a transfer and with that front dolly it’s humbled me on manny occasions. I thought I could back up any bumper pull but learned real fast that second pivot will catch you off guard.

Ya it baffled me at the start.
I started in garbage, doing roll offs. Delivery of a box in a residential and backing it chained up to the hook and parking it curb side is almost the same thing. Once I figured that out it was like all that experience carried over and I figured out how to back it up instantly

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I guess this week is wildlife week. Today I pulled into one of my pickups and there are 2 young foxes standing there in the middle of the open lot...in the city! Strange sight to see in the middle of the afternoon. They just stood there and watched me drive by.

Man I got brake checked hard by an idiot today. I don't know what this guy's problem was other than I was 90k and trying to get up to speed, go down hill on the freeway and he whips around in front of me and jams on his brakes! Twice! I locked em up and was amazed that I got the truck stopped. If I was closer to retirement I would have just drilled him, lol. He was driving a $90K Ford f250 and he wants to play chicken with a semi? I think I really need to get a dash cam to cover my ass.

I keep my CDL current as a back up, but made a living with it for a few years. Something special about bouncing through all those gears in an air ride seat! :burnrubber: I left driving for better pay and to quit working under a micromanaging idiot of a boss, but never actually disliked the job. Still miss driving sometimes, but the money just wasn't there.

Mostly ran a class B roll deck to deliver cellular equipment (towers, buildings, antennas, etc.) but used the class A often enough to know that I wouldn't want to do it OTR. I was uniquely employed because I was hourly and had to load and unload the truck, and working for a utility there were lots of exemptions to rules like hours of service and such that we could use.

So, though I have my class A and drove trucks, I'd never say I was a truck driver because I had a very different experience than what that title would imply.

I actually found out about this from Chloe Kuo's Taco channel, but don't see why it wouldn't work in a truck too. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/731428/pn/010-02504-00

Sounds like tow trucks, weight was just a number, as long as you scaled on axles you pulled it. Hours were whenever you got called, hell one of the guys didn’t even have a CDL for like 3 years and some of the places and stuff you had to deal with is something else.

Yeah, the loopholes were definitely pushed/abused by the D-bag boss, and yet he'd try to hem you up for breaking DOT rules (even when you didn't break them) because he didn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. I am still with the same company, but in a different department. Cushy air conditioned office job.... I've gotten fat, but I'm way happier. :D

This is one of the biggest ones I drove. This would have a bunch of conduit reals for fiber optic cable on it that got dropped off along side the road so the guys plowing it in could reload the D7 as they went. Each real had had enough conduit to go a little under a half mile with three parallel conduits.

    upload_2022-9-24_20-49-14.jpg

Loaded up it looked like this, but this is just a google image.

The biggest I ever ran was an oversize load with a hay bailer on a low boy equipment trailer. I didn't mind the trip except the area I had to get it from was an 8+ hour drive one way with lots of single lane construction going on. Good experience in hindsight, but not something I wanted to do every day.
