Toyota has been making reliable turbo diesels such as the 1KD, 1VD & 1KZ for nearly 4 decades.

Those same motors have been powering every flagship 4x4 Toyota, such as the LC 70 series & the Hilux, out & through the most remote parts of the world for just as long.

Toyota knows a thing or two about reliable forced induction bud

And yet the new Tundra has had several extremely early turbo failures. Nobody is perfect.

    ... what's the bZ4X?

They already have a full BEV. I think that yota would do better with a PHEV, personally.

This is true, especially given the Tundra motor is a brand new design. I'm sure the turbo diesels had hiccups when they were first released.

Rumor has it the new Taco will be using the 2.4L 4cyl hybrid turbo from the Lexus NX350h. Lexus forums might be a good place to check for issues w/ the new powertrain.

Isn't this the car that got recalled because the tires fell off?

FX2 and FX4 packages will include a rear locker, along with the Tremor.

I'm almost tempted to order a super cab Ranger since the new model will have more BS electronic features, the parking brake and that huge screen.

Ford rear locker can be used in 4hi as well as 4lo I believe.

Toyota could learn a thing or two here.

I believe in 2wd as well, not 100% sure on the Ranger.

Can also use the off road gizmos in 4hi. I'd kill for Toyota to adapt this.

2wd locker would be asking too much lol. No way Toyota would do that. It would be too awesome.

Besides the recall l actually think Toyota started buying the cars back from the customers also, unless l am thinking of something different.

No, they started buying them back because of the stupid model name. They were too embarrassed to have that nameplate rolling around in public.

by hyping it up like crazy making all these best in class claims when it ended up being mediocre in every category and still gets worse mpgs than some competitors v8s. also the hybrid barely makes any difference in mileage and 100% should have been a plug in hybrid so you would actually see a benefit
