So I know... no one cares really.. but I used to have a 2021 TRD Pro in lunar rock with the autotragic. Long story short, while I LOVED the truck I hated the transmission. Sold it... and just got a 2022 in Electric lime with the 6MT... took quite a bit of hunting to do that.

So what did I miss on the forums/Tacomaworld? Any new issues pop up? I saw a few popped engines due to valve issues...

Also interesting to notice the 2021 to 2022 small changes...
    22 is taller
    22 rides firmer
22 has a better exhaust note
22 is made in mexico and my 21 was from texas... but I see 0 build issues. Both trucks have been flawless.

Why I sold my Gen3 and grabbed a low mile Gen2. When this truck goes though definitely getting a manual in the Gen3.

The lime green has very bad paint defects. Paint starts peeling on the inside fenders and around the door windows……

Oh no wait, that’s our white paints…

    Congrats on finding a MT.

i may have the unpopular opinion here but i used to hate the auto on this thing (especially the previous 19' I had) but i actually ended up liking it despite it still not being perfect. i find it easier to drive in offroad settings and just better for long road trips. however i wouldn't mind one in manual and i think manual tacos are cool. if the opportunity comes maybe ill snag one but i want to keep mine for awhile at least.

ive had 4 hondas, 3 of them in manual (currently own 2) though and i prefer all of them to be in manual. them honda gearboxes are mint.

Nice Pro, not my color but its still cool. Big congrats! You know a nice KDMAX tune will do wonders on the automatic and also on the manual also. More power and torque too!

I'd say the OP do a little homework on a tune before potentially spending 750 on something that is lackluster in any gear above 1st (for the 6MT anyway).

Thanks for the suggestion but I am essentially an “oem” guy. I like things stock.

Nice ride- welcome back! Don’t rub it in about the MT. Some members are “sensitive” about their trannies.

Hol' up, the 22 Pros are slightly lifted compared to the 21s?

Yea it’s quite noticeable to be honest.
Also dealer set tire pressures to 38 compared to the 30 per the manual. That may explain my “rougher” ride

I am too..really 'stock-ish'..but I do think that folks here on TW (or maybe the new car culture) thinks everything is a 'mod' when it is really an accessory. I wouldn't consider changing wheels or adding a TRD skid plate a mod. Maybe folks here are insecure and want to brag about modifiying trucks when they are really accessorizing. Stock-ish is a good thing. I am in the process of retrofitting EFI into a 74 Bronco and that modification is a real PITA. I enjoy having a stock drivetrain in a Tacoma.

If you found a 66 Mustang in a barn with period correct equivalents of what we call 'mods' but the original engine, transmission, interior, and body panels were all there, it would be sold at Barret Jackson as an unmodified original survivor with some nice old accessories.

If you pulled a TRD Pro out of a bubble in 30 years with a KDMAX tune, wheels, and some Meso stuff, even with 265 75 16 tires a bedrug and a topper, I don't know what it would bring but they would sell it as an unmodified vehicle.

So please, enjoy a KDMAX tune and don't look back.
