There is a 2wd 3rd gen OR that has a rear locker, but they must be rare, I don't think I have ever seen one. I know prerunner's on previous generations were a thing, it just seems like since the 3rd gen came along, Toyota sort of dropped it mostly.

I would like not having to put my truck in 4lo to use the locker, must be nice.

I’m pretty sure all of the 2nd and 3rd gen 2wd TRD Offroads have a locker.

Yeah I was just referencing the 3rd gen. I don't have a 2nd gen, so I don't comment on them much.

Add in the massive amount of quality and build issues, everyday its something new on the FB groups, youtube or tundra forum, you all thought the 2016 3rd gens were a lemon, 2022 Tundra is like "hold my beer." Sat in one and drove one 2 months ago, plastic, rattling, overpriced, I'm gonna be pretty upset if our beloved Tacoma follows suit.

My 2021 Tacoma has a gnarly rattle in the crawl control overhead unit. Really obnoxious, but I don't want to deal with the Toyota dealership in town.

I feel ya, we have 2 close dealers (w/in 50 miles) here, one is terrible to buy from (ADM package nonsense, terrible rates, etc.) but has awesome service and pricing, the other is MSRP, super awesome to buy from but terrible and overpriced service dept.

My 2021 is coming up on it’s second birthday December 1st. I’m just getting ready to hit 20,000 miles. I’m good for a few years. :)

With Toyota, you’re paying for mechanical and electrical reliability. It’s not a Lexus. Shit might rattle sometimes.

My 2009 doesn't have any rattles whatsoever other than the one remaining cat heat shield that's missing a bolt.

What quarter of 2023 will the Gen 4 Taco likely be press-released?

I have not seen any official word yet. The 3rd Gens hit dealer lots around September of 2015.

Yes it seems the departments can vary. My local dealership has a great parts department. Super friendly, helpful, and best prices in a 20 mile radius. But every time I park in the main lot (ok I am still a customer!) I walk by enormous ADM on the window and a slew of hideous overpriced accessories. There is also a lot right within walking distance with used Tacomas being prepped-almost like they are intentionally controlling the supply to keep the price high.

I haven't tried the service department though but it sure makes me nervous.

Yea. We're on a different planet in a different solar system than we were in 2015. How long ago that seems...

Is there any chance whatsoever that we'll see a V6 (boosted or NA) in the Gen 4? Or is a boosted 4 all but a guarantee at this point?

    Thanks.
