Just used that on mine this summer. Trying to get a few more years out of it.

Funny the topic of decks, finishes, and restoration has come up. I tried out a transparent stain and sealant made by Valspar on my little stoop thing off the garage man door. It's OK, kinda weird to apply and is a little blotchy in spots. However it's better than fading and graying wood.

Looks good. The Cabot deck correct has a texture to it. I kind of don’t like.

    Thanks!

I want to do the little ramp going into my shed and then treated mail box post. Just trying to make things pop a little bit. The neighbors and the daughter of the previous owner have liked what I've been doing so far, so that's nice to hear. With Fall and Winter coming close I guess it's gonna be time to start all the painting projects I need to do. Gonna start with the kitchen cabinets, oh joy! :annoyed:

Yes I did. Only took for ever. Working on replacing the lattice now. Power washed the deck before hand. Trying to get a few more years. Going to be expensive to replace.

Deck goes along the front and down the side. Wife wants to do vinyl but it would probably cost more than I paid for the house.

It’s smart core vinyl tile from lowes!

It’s amazing. I’ve installed about 3 thousand square feet of vinyl plank and this vinyl tile beats it all. It’s easier to install, and a stronger vinyl.

Is it a waterproof seal between tiles? I need to do all my bathrooms and my kitchen and vinyl tile seems to be the easiest. This aged and disgusting looking linoleum has gotta go.

Also does anyone know how it holds up to UV? The linoleum by my back patio door is all brown and burnt looking from sun exposure.

It is “waterproof” seals, just like vinyl plank. I still put the pergo waterproof barrier below it mainly for extra protection and an added layer of sound proofing too since it’s over a basement.

Any of you have any experience with Insta Rail vertical cable or tube railing system. they look like a great option instead of the wood spindles. Just wondering if one is easier to install or wears better over time?

Is there anybody here who is good with bullnose crown moulding?

I am in desperate need of help. I have watched every, single, video on youtube on how to measure and cut and despite my efforts, I have completely fucked up every piece I've tried to make.

Here is a pic of what I'm trying to replicate, the long piece is 10.75 inches on the top, 8.75 on the bottom.

The corner trim bullnose pieces are 3 inches on the top and 1 on the bottom.

What angles am I supposed to cut? Every time that I try to cut 22.5 degrees, I get a different value than what I'm trying to shoot for. See pic below:

Not sure, this is what I’m using from Lowe’s. How do I calculate the spring angle?

looks like 45 but can’t say for certain

I wish I knew what this means, I’m sorry I’m really new at this.

do I need a jig to hold the crown itself or is it more for the angle?
