    Internal pressure sensor seems to have crapped the bed, so I'll soon be ordering an external map sensor to wire in (and might as well wire in a flex fuel sensor while I'm in there). The query was an unrelated future project. My wife will eventually get a new car (likely 5th gen t4r) but I'll then have an 07 RAV4 with 275,000 miles on it to play with. When we tore it down last year at ~240,000 miles all the internals looked nearly new so I'm not super concerned about longevity at this point, but I'm planning to see if I can boost it for sub $1000 and making a boost on a budget series. My plan to get around tuning and bigger injectors was to run a propane injection, but so it kind of self regulate, I wanted a boost referenced valve essentially. Running a line from the turbo it would see boost before the manifold so it would start opening right at vacuum in theory and then the flow should increase as boost does, just slightly ahead of manifold pressure. Propane apparently has like 105 octane and it's super cold in addition to being fuel so other than having a leak and lighting a cigarette and blowing up, it seems like a safe/cheap option in place of a proper set up lol. That 2az is apparently a killer motor if you can fix the oil burning, which we did

    @yota243

    Your valve handle needs to have a long throw to be able to regulate the propane flow incrementally. Possibly could run it through a nitros kit at the intake to have jet adjustability as well.

    I could probably find some jets pretty easy. In my mind there way just goin to be like the vacuum actuated exhaust cutouts sized down and controlling a butterfly. And then I thought like a waste gate basically but really if it were more like a BOV where you could adjust spring tension with a screw it would be better for fine tuning. I'm not sure exactly how cold LP is when it comes out, but I do know that it will blister you in about a second or so of contact if you change a bottle and something isn't quite right. Assuming that it is somewhat evenly distributed to each cylinder, with the stock ecu maintaining a ~12.1 afr as long as it can and then pumping propane to offset the rest temps should be stupid low and, I feel like it's a Japanese car hank Hill could really get behind lol

    If I can make this work at 8 psi and net a ~70% increase in HP, that will be just over 100 HP gains (I assume at best this thing puts 150 to the wheels since it's rated at like 170 and that was 15 years ago lol a 20% drive train loss sounds conservative) this car would rip pretty good with 250 HP (be pretty close to what the 3.5 option was putting down) and $10 a horse may be a world record haha.

    LP boils and returns to a gas at -44°F btw for those who were curious

    Get a smaller wastegate actuator like for a sub 2L turbo. Fab a bracket for it to actuate a 1/4 turn stainless ball valve also mounted to the bracket. Set it to function at low boost and use an electronic boost controller to stage it open as you want. Pretty sure some EBCs can tie into a MAF reading which would be ideal. Maybe can just fog the intake like a W/M spray just downstream of an intercooler.

    Yeah my plan was to fog it just past the MAF so it didn't bottom out the iat when it kicked in lol, if I'm not running a tuner how would I control an EBC they just know parameters based off signal from the MAF? The 1/4 turn valve should work, I didn't think about getting just an actuator for in internal WG but that should work like a champ, as long as everything moves IRL like it is in my head rn

    Straight to the jugular on price point, but can do multiple functions at once. Only issue I foresee is using the pressurized gas would require some nitrous type valves/solenoids. Thusly driving up the costs. But it should be infinitely tunable. Could possibly be more cost efficient versions with lesser functions that aren’t needed.

    I will be making a T3 manifold in the coming weeks, for a 2TR. For an internal wastegate setup. Actually going to start working on it later today. For anyone interested.

    I was trying to get 3.5" 16g 304 45's but they have been out. Ended up getting 2 90's but I hate cutting elbows.
