I’ve got an ‘06 DCLB auto 4x4 with 190k kms. I also have only hand tools.

My X-mission mount is failing. I get a clunk in the drivetrain when I’m on the gas, coast then get back on it. It also happens when shifting into gear or from P->R.

I have no leaks at X-mission, X-fer case or rear differential. My U-joints and CB are new (less than 5k kms). I’m not sure what to look for in a failing mount, but from research, that’s my suspicion.

Advice welcomed. Let me know what else to check, or how to check the mount. Thanks.

Check ur U bolts where the leafs meet the axle. When mine were/are loose the axle moves ever so slightly that it causes that feeling. I believe it's called axle wrap. Something simple to check before u dive into the transmission mount.

U-bolts were installed by a shop when I had my leafs replaced. I’m starting to wonder though. They’re tight, I checked 80ft-lbs.

Thanks @TnShooter and @steelcity2 . Looking at the pics, and reading the descriptions, looks like my X-mission mount is good, about 1/16” of up travel. Going to look into my U-bolts next. These were cheap Amazon ones, all I could spend at the time.
