Rollins Pass West really take 2.5 hours one way? That seems slow for a 14 mile dirt road basically..

That's been my reasoning the last like 4 years... Why I still have a 1080ti lol.

I just ordered all the parts for a triple 360mm radiator liquid cooling setup for the rebuild. Will probably buy a 4090 or 16GB 4080 first, hang on to my Ryzen 3800x for a while longer and get a 13700k later on

I haven't run the west side yet but if it's anything like the east side then 2.5hrs actually sounds like a realistic time going the speed limit. Not sure if you've run the east side, but they say 3-4 hours round trip, and my record time was around 90 minutes 1 way, and I was moving as fast as my little truck would let me when the road permitted. Most of it was at least 2 car widths wide, good visibility, railroad grade, but that is a very bumpy, slow moving, pot holed filled 15 miles or whatever it is. It's straight wear and tear on suspension and joints with zero technical challenge. But it does have beautiful views along the way, and the tunnel is really cool. It's well worth the drive and hike up to the tunnel at least once from the east, for anyone that hasn't done it.

Yeah ran the east side long ago. We're taking a quick little trip to Granby so thought I'd run the west side and check out some fall colors. But with the longish drive there and then the trail, might just skip on by any trails and find a decent pub

I recall all but the last bit being standard FS dirt road, and nowhere near 2.5 hrs, maybe 45 min each way? Also don’t recall the last bit on 501 being worth the stress, but that was me in a stock 4 cyl 4wd. Could easily walk that stretch just as fast, but I don’t think it’s worth the additional views to drive. The cool old wooden bridges and leaf views are lower down anyway.

Don't let me talk you out of running a trail I have never run.

Trust someone who has actually run it. Sounds like it might be worth an hour or two up the trail.

Them pets! This past March our 17yr + old Jack Russell Terrier crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He was the definition of a true companion - always at your side and always loving. This is Murphy when he was 4 months old: 100_0150.jpg

After six months of a pet-less household we finally came to our senses and adopted a new family member - another Jack Russell Terrier. This is Rusty - 4 months old IMG_6851.jpg .

    Them pets!

Yeah probably nothing that spendy for me either. The 7600k and RX 480 are definitely getting ready to retire though haha
