So I got in my truck today, and the AC wasn't kicking on. Air blows, and the AC and Internal Air lights are both lit up and not flashing. Any idea why?

Last night, I did mess with my battery, I was installing a pair of KC lights and had the battery disconnected for maybe 2-3 hours since I had something come up in the middle of the install. Would that have anything to do with it?

Thanks in advance. I live in AZ, so this is slightly critical so I don't broil alive.

Sounds like you may have a leak, time to hook up service gauges, check pressures, and look for leaks.

Any tips on how to do that? I have no idea how the AC system works, and I don't have any of the tools or anything. Is it something I can do relatively easily myself, or should I take it into a shop?

It would be best to take it to a shop if you have no knowledge on A/C or tools.
Since you say the compressor isn't coming on but the light isn't flashing that tells me the system is either out of refrigerant or the pressure switch has failed or the wiring to it is open.
You may look in the area of the pressure switch (on the A/C line near the right headlight) and make sure you didn't damage the wires or leave it unplugged when you installed the lights.

When I got back to my truck this afternoon to drive home, I figured I'd try it just to see if the AC would work. It did!

I have no idea why it didn't work this morning, but it 100% was blowing hot air earlier. I don't know if there is a loose connection or something, but hopefully it is good from now on. I'll definitely be back for more help if it doesn't. Thanks for the help, it's great to have a place to ask my questions.
