Been on the forums for a while now looking, figured I would go ahead and post as well as ask a few questions. I own a new 2011 magnetic gray tacoma with off road package. It's my first new vehicle, first truck, and first toyota. I have learned some things, but still feel in the dark so I got a couple questions and you guys are more experts than me.

    3" lift

    - I like the 3" lift and seems to me that it does less stress on the truck
    - I have seen a lot recommend Billstein 5100 shocks from toytec right?
    - However I want to keep the ride close to stock or nicer as the
stock seems to ride good to me.
    - So what's the best lift to go with a kit? or buy all individual parts?

    Cold Air intake

    - Wanting to improve gas mileage
    - I have seen and heard everyone mention K&N cold air intake but I have
also heard AFE and TRD mention so which is the best working intake to
    get?
    - I heard about the deck plate mod, but nobody I know knows about it or
how to install, and I don't want to do anything to throw the warranty

    Tube Steps

    - Wanting to put tube steps on for look and function especially with
    getting a 3" lift
    - I have looked at the ovals where the ends bend in, but looking for any
    and all recommendations

Afe Pro Dry S Air filter

    - Do they have them out for the 2011 tacomas? I heard they help as well.

I apologize for all the questions so quickly, but I figured put them here all together first would be my best. I just want to thank everyone for all your help in helping this noob. Look forward to see all you fellow tacoma owners on the road.

    First welcome from central VA

There's litterally hundreds of ways to achieve 3 inches of lift, search the lift sub forum a lot and read up and try to figure out what falls into ur budget and needs

Air filters... I have the k&n but most discussion on here is that it is overpriced for the gains, drop in filters is prolly ur best bet... again tons of posts debating afe vs. K&n, etc

Tube steps are frowned upon b/c a lot of members wheel there trucks, but there are a lot of options for those as well

when you say wheel their trucks, your referring to aftermarket rims and different tires then stock correct? just making sure I am on the same page as what your referring to. However the only reason looking at them is for look, but also since it is my primary vehicle the my girlfriend has to get in and she is short so it's also to help not have to hear it from her and or other females who may get in the vehicle.

    Thanks for all the welcomes

I wasn't sure which way he was referring, so thanks. Not much planned in the off roading area just yet as the truck is new and with this being my first brand new vehicle I am still very protective of the truck. Sounds like fun on sunday, but I have way too much already planned.

No worries bud, I just made a quick post while I was at work because I had a few minutes. Just questions looking to get answered over next couple days so I can start making decisions to get get these modifications done over next month or two.
