Between my wife and I we have inherited $26,500. From the passing of great-relatives. We are invested with my MIL on three rental properties, estimated value of $500k; total real estate investment estimated value of $1M and only $265k note on it (we own 30% of the $500K rentals). Here is the thing though; I also max out my Roth401k every year for the past 6 years, I have an estimated value of 70% of what I have invested over those 6 years. Investments are crazy and time will tell if they were good choices or bad. I always hear TIME IN THE MARKET not TIMING THE MARKET but I think that is total BS because timing the market is when the rich get richer. I am glad to not have a vehicle payment and only one mortgage but tomorrow all that could change.

I am in a job situation where my company hasn't gotten an new contract for 3 years now. My job could be in jeopardy if we don't get a new contract within the next 3 months. What do you do? Look for a new job now and jump ship before it sinks or ride out the storm to a possible paradise?

i know that ford uses TTv6 for the ecoboost, but im mainly talking about toyota jumping on the turbo bandwagon

next gen tacoma is supposedly only going to be available with a TT4. upgraded exhaust on these truck already make them sound like pissed off weedeaters...cant imagine what a TT4 is going to sound like

new tundra is a TTv6, no v8 offered. kinda bullshit. i think they are even doing that same bullshit fords doing with the stereo system that adds in fake V8 noises so that you "feel" cool driving a smaller engine

but my point is why not keep the ttv6 with the tacoma and make a ttv8 for the tundra?

Because emissions standard regulations. I am sure Toyota would feel perfectly happy selling the 4.0L v6 vvt and the 5.7L in trucks until 2055 if there was no emissions or fuel economy requirements.

Always have an eye out for other job opportunities. And that time in market beats timing market is just saying most people aren’t going to be very good at timing. :D

i get that, but I'm betting a ttv6 in the taco would get much better mileage and emissions than the tt4

Absolutely. The average recovery for a stock market crash is about 4 years. We're at....2?

As much as I like the get up and go that's just so much power for such a little truck. I'd get one but the cost benefit isn't there for the sales.

Be as loyal to your company as they are to you.

Yes. Timing the market is luck.

Ahh yes but since 2008 when I first enrolled into my 401k I still have less total value than the face value of the money I’ve invested. It blows my mind how many fees are involved in these selected funds groups. If I had taken all the money I’ve invested in 401ks since 2008 and just had it in a checking account it would be about $20k higher than the funds in my 401k account as I last checked last week. Even at stock market peak two years ago I had only gained 6% on my investments. With high fed rates of inflation I have to put my 10k into II bonds shortly. When I was gambling the stock market in 2014-2016 I was returning 15% regularly. It’s all very aggravating.

Because a TT v6 in a Tacoma or TT v8 in a Tundra would be TOO much power.

Yeah exactly. I might just start a consulting firm and then sell it in 15 years, that seems to be a good avenue to revenue, and personal use of time.

    I'm not buying this.

A checking account returns shit, a savings account returns slightly less than shit.

I can't figure how you think you would have 20k more by essentially putting your money under a mattress.

Wanna laugh even more. For a very brief point today GTii was worth TWICE as much as BBIG. I've still got a bunch of warrants so there's that. lol
