    Hey everyone.

So for the past week I've noticed that the passenger side on my 2003 Tacoma is wet.

I checked around the forums and other sites. Most kept on saying it could be a clogged hose from the AC condenser. So I checked it out, the hose was not clogged, and there was no signs of water leaks around that area.

Now I'm wondering what could it be. It seems like the floor gets wet each time it rains. So I'm wondering can it be the trucks door molding?

I'm a bit worried because it's gotten to the point that the inside of my Tacoma a thick coat of water condensation forms on all the windows, and anything I leave inside feels damp, specially papers, and documents.

I am inclined to think it may be the door molding as I do not see any wet spots or leaks coming from the AC or that area in particular.

Has anyone had this problem before? Can anyone please help me?

    Thank you.

How's the floor pan? Any chance it's rusted through anywhere?

    Update:

I just decided to remove the carpet. This is what I found. Seems like there's a look coming from the areas I marked highlighted in the pictures. If so where can these leaks originate from? Also in that area there's a trail of little ants.

I also checked the door molding and it was dry.

All the images are on the back right side under the glove compartment.

I just posted some new images of the floor without the rug and what I believe may be the source of the leak. Not sure if it is but there's an ant trail and it's all wet in that area.

Search around this forum for a leaking cowl, sealing a spot welded area etc. I don't remember exactly, buts it's a known issue.

A few things: Heater core leaking? If you run the AC do you actually see water draining as expected? I think the prior suggestions were on point, just putting it out there.

The AC drain being plugged gets my vote.

X2 on the cowl leak. I had that happen on both sides of my truck. Pull that trim piece off and run some sealant along the seams and it never came back. My situation under the carpet was waaaay worse too.. luckily tubbing it cut away the worst of it.

    All of the above

Is that black mold? if so, a good steam clean/disinfect of the carpet. Before putting it all back in, get rid of all that black stuff. If it is black mold, you don't want to leave it unchecked.

I checked if it was black mold but it seems to be dirt, it seems like the ants have built a little trail from that side that is wet. Even if it is dirt I will clean and disinfect the area to prevent mold or mildew from growing.

I checked the drain tube on my Tacoma and it seems to properly drain when my AC is turned on.

As of lately I have not turned it on so I can observe if there's any ongoing wet carpet which tends to get worse after it rains.

Maybe see if it leaks into the truck while it's running. Could be a partial blockage allowing it to fill up.

I'm still leaning towards the cowl leak, mine does the same but I haven't fixed it.

Also check the grommet in the firewall on that side.

Did you run any new wires/etc through it?

    Is it fully seated?

I will check it. The truck is fully stock. Wheels are normal size stock wheels. Nothing has been altered.

Since there may be various issues and ways it may leak. I've decided to buy a couple bottles of flourescent dye and spray some water on it so I can use an ultraviolet light to see where I can find the leak and trace it back from the source.

I will use apply the dye in places where I believe the leak is coming from one at a time until the water leaking becomes flourescent with the UV light.

I just found a small hole where it seems the ants are going through underneath the cowl right above the passenger side. I think this may be it since the ants have formed a trail inside the truck.

You know what that can definitely be a source the antena is broken and the base of it is broken exposing the inside of it.

Little update. Seems like the leak definitely is coming from the cowl area.

Today it rained quite a bit and I found a small stream. Here its is...

    What do you guys think?
