Is that going to cause some interference with the door opening. it looks pretty close already.

 

Right now the door clears the metal fine. The awning does stop the door from opening fully but still plenty of room for side access. That’s the side I open my fridge on so I definitely want to maintain access there. I want to drop it maybe 1/2” more for garage clearance

 

I have a 3 inch lift with 33s to boot. How tall is your truck that you need the awning to be lowered? My awning works just fine for me, just curious.

 

@nudavinci64 or anyone else that has replaced the gas springs to support maxtrax on the side doors, do you have a link to what you ordered?

I’m on 35s and just added a leaf to my medium duty dakars so now my awning is rubbing on the top of the garage door frame. I even removed the garage door weather strip for more clearance.

 

Ironman 4 by 4 makes awning quick release brackets.

Oh that’s interesting. They say it’s not compatible with the 270 awning they make. I have a OVS 270 awning so it probably won’t be ideal for that either. Looks like it’s made of nylon too. Got me thinking I could use that for one of those shower rooms though!

yah I could not find any but these have worked just fine.

 

I've got a pair of maxtrax tucked in the space on the inside of one of the side panels with the stock struts. Maybe a bad idea but it's been okay for the last few months.
