    After doing the napkin math it was pretty obvious they won’t need to fiddle with the raptor in order to hover, at least on earth, the moon and Mars might be different though they’ll be landing heavy there.

    I'm pretty sure I saw SN15 hover. Might not have been longer than a second or 2, but dammit! I saw it hover!

    I wonder if it was just to make sure the pumps worked and the pipes don't leak. Don't need the full volume of water for that?

    I was thinking he might have his own notions on how much water is needed if used a bit differently but you could be right. I wonder if it will be tested in future static fires.

    I can't see why they wouldn't use it in the future. Would cut down on dust and wildfires.

    Seeing the deluge renders, they have nozzles pointed horizontally into the interior OLM, so it's not surprising that it looks different than the KSC deluges.
