3 days ago I traded my Tundra in on a 2022 Lunar Rock TRD OR Premium. It took 9 months to get here an I couldn't be more excited to own a new Tacoma. There's just one issue and it's a strange one.
Something is "off" with the drivers side mirror. It so strange I even have a hard time explaining it. Everything in the mirror looks out of focus is the best way I can explain it. Like I'm looking through a bad pair of prescription glasses. The passenger side mirror is fine. At first I though a piece of plastic film was left on the mirror but that wasn't the case. I've cleaned the mirror, I've cleaned my side window. Even my girlfriend sitting in the passenger seat said she can see that something seems off about it. I don't even know how to approach the dealer about it. Has anyone heard anything close to what I'm talking about?

It's under warranty, so take it back to the dealer and have them replace the mirror glass. Some windshields are wavy if you look at them at an angle too. Irregardless it should be covered under your 3yr/36k bumper to bumper warranty.

    Oh look, another mod....
Wasn't that the theme to Amityville horror? Maybe it was The Shining?

I've never heard of that, but a good dealer will take care of it for you.

Is it when driving or stopped or both?

I'm not sure it's going to come out in a photo like I see it. It's 9pm here but I'll do my best tomorrow morning to capture what I'm talking about.

It's anything in the mirror. Doesn't matter if I'm driving or stopped at a light.

I haven’t heard of it on a Tacoma (on this forum). but it’s quite common for the mirror glass to be defective. Go to dealer and have them replace the glass. This is assuming it’s like this constantly and not when driving. If it’s when driving only then it’s the mount that holds the glass and the whole wing mirror unit needs to be replaced.

While you are out snapping pictures, throw a picture of your whole truck and for extra credit the girlfriend too.

Peel the protective film off your mirror and it should be clear again. Im guessing that PDI didnt remove it when they did their prep.

Does the mirror have a slight haze?
    Could be overspray perhaps?
Try Bar Keepers Friend on it.

Get some Spotter Mirrors. If you need an excuse to spend on the taco, this is the time! Or buy my OEM mirrors... no wrong answer here...
