One way is to put one side in the end of a vice, and carefully hit the rod end away from it with a dead blow. That didn’t work for me, so I just punched out the bearing with the spacers in it because I replaced it all anyways. Just 2 sockets and some force lol

Worked perfectly. Now that i have taken it apart I understand how it works and what I need.

Not crazy about the bump stop spacer. Upper uni touches inner fender before good squish on the factory spaced bumpstop. First LT install, lots to learn.

Looks good! Did the kit come with a bump stop spacer? I was curious about mine limiting up travel but didn’t consider the upper uniball going through my wheel well lol. I’ve never completely cycled the front tho. But I’d reccomend that spacer if you already make contact with the wheel well and not even at full bump.

Yep, big thick spacer installed. Theres no way my 35s are going to live comfortably at full stuff the way it is.

I would be comfortable putting another 1/2" spacer in

Hmm yeah that makes me think mine might hit the wheel well also lol. I should’ve cycled them when I rebuilt my kings just so i know but didn’t feel like bolting it all back up. Do you have fiberglass fenders?

    Whole lotta stuff
How much shaft did you have left at bump? You have the top hat spaced down as well, so you could space your bump farther, but you might reach a point of diminishing returns because of CV bind. Don't wanna rob yourself of travel.

Hmm..well you should be fine. I have 4” McNeils and 35s and haven’t had issues. Same LT kit as you. I guess depending on how hard you abuse your truck.

I had about 3/4 inch. It was starting to touch the rubber washer on the shaft.

At that point of uniball touching fender to full droop I was measuring 12.5 inches. Strapped, axles could still spin, but uniball gap was too close. Strapped it tighter for uniball clearence sake.

Mine upper uniball bolt hits the wheel well before my 37’s do.

Well before I adjusted my bumps.

Anyone coming from the LA area and going to Vegas anytime soon?

I live in Colorado and found a steering center (Its about 5' long, new, not greasy) for my 93 Pickup build in Covina area but I am not road tripping west anytime soon. I do have friends in Vegas to drop the parts at.

    Any help or ideas appreciated.

    Cheers, Chris

Yep it’s easier to just cut the frame off.

also measured the drive shaft plunge since it was brought up on my last post, it’s about .5-.75 inches with my 40” arms.

I think with my dirt designs 4 link kit plunge was right around 3/4” as well.

Did the alignment, barely bolted the fiberglass on and drove home, found my favorite whoop laden dirtroad and let it rip. WOW! money well spent. 45mph and it soaked it up.

Steering is stiff, im assuming the fact that I had to use a long punch to manipulate the uniballs to even run a bolt through them, that this is the cause, doesnt feel like anythings wrong, just new and tight.

I just guessed and turned the compression adjusters 7 clicks from firm and seems to drive/feel supple. Coilovers and springs are used so no break in time.

Im assuming the truck is only going downhill from here in terms of tightness/quietness? Lol

The Off Road Expo (Pomona) is the weekend of Oct 1-2. Don't know if there are other forums (jeep forums perhaps) where you could also post. But there will probably be plenty going thru Vegas.
