What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Well, since no one had any suggestions and I don't want to tear the engine down myself, because if I get in over my head it means a tow included, I guess I'm dropping it off at a local import mechanic on Tuesday.

 

It creates like a tornado vortex that pulls all the crap out of carpet.

I wouldn't think that would sound so good there, but I guess it's possible

 

It's sealed and self amplified only 200w, sounds fine to me but I don't usually have the gain turned up much either I like good sound not loud sound and not a big fan of muddy overbearing bass.

I keep wanting to add a little amplifier to my stereo set up but at the same time when I'm really jamming out and then turn it off I can hear the slightest "ears ringing" meaning it already gets loud enough to potentially damage hearing so do I really need an amplifier?

That said I might be able to ditch the 10" and still have enough bass with my 6.75 Rockford Fosgate door components, right now though I have the low frequencies mostly bypassed to them and pretty much all thump comes from the BassLinkX.

With the gained turned all the way up it's honestly a bit much for me on some bass heavy songs.

I've played with it in different positions and both cone forward as it is now and driver forward and honestly the reasonable places I can put it this sounds best to me.

Looks like wack but for $60 on Craigslist 10 years ago, money well spent.

Yep. Sounds great, at least to me, 1000x better than stock

 

On the floor isn't an option for me, I had it there for a bit but it was in the way, sounded unbalanced and now I have waterproof gear cases there because low placed electronics isn't ideal for the situations I occasionally find myself in.

 

Fair enough! It would probably fit under the seat with a small spacer, but I don't care enough to bother
