Nah, even for Monte, this puddle wasn't "normal." The busted LBJ an hour later though... yep, totally normal.

Thank goodness Mark was there to make us lunch. That was a lifesaver. @IDtrucks

Which part do you not understand?

Sorry, couldn't resist the "Matt reply." ;)

It means, that was the last day Monte drove that truck (Frank). It was Day 7 of The De-Tour (Sep 2017). From that point on, Igor has been slowly destroyed.

Quick hack of you don't have the tool to hold a pulley. Fold the belt over itself and loop the end around something. Did this a few weeks ago on a 2uz to torque the crank bolt and again today to hold the fan pulley on a 3vz.

Over the past couple weeks I've cut out a rusty section of my bed, did some rust treatment and painting. Going to try making a patch panel with some sheet metal and a metal brake when I have more time. Removed the plastic bed liner and installed the Dee Zee DZ86501 Bed Mat - it fits pretty well with a small amount of trimming.

Today I wired up some LED bed lighting and connected it to the 00550-35976 fog light switch with some Deutsch DT connectors. I wanted an OE style connector that would allow me to remove the center console plastic without having to disconnect wires from the switch. Originally tried using some Weather-pack style connectors but my pins kept coming loose. Was impressed with how well the Deutsch connectors worked.

Second half of Day 4 on the Dusy/Ershim trail. The adventure continued.

After getting Charlie upright from his lost potato incident, we continued on. We encountered and down pour and thunder storm, a broken front leaf spring on Dion's rig, and driving in to the night to reach a proper campsite.

My clutch pedal torsion spring went crazy and started holding the pedal hostage so I tore it out while I wait on a linear spring to come in the mail. Also got some lights to help watch out for animals (especially as the weather changes), now just waiting on my CBI brackets and I'll be looking like the Kmart @Blackdawg.

Installed a new HU, well yesterday. My old Alpine is 17 yrs old, so old didn't even have aux input or bluetooth. I did add bluetooth to it but had to control everything from my phone. Due to the low radio position on the 1st gen, I never wanted to upgrade cause I liked the tilting face & didn't want to go with a double din. I also prefer volume knobs instead of push button volume which I actually really hate.

Well it was time to upgrade, got a me a double din. I'm really gonna miss the tilting face & volume knob. Got me the new ILX-507 that just came out recently. Yup, just as I feared, gonna take some time to get used to the low radio position w/ no tilting face. But at least there's a remote volume knob available for this model that I'll get as soon as I can (OOS right now). With all the new features available now it's well worth the upgrade from what I had. I love this thing already, my wallet didn't though.

Also installed a bypass module for the stupid parking brake settings lock (little black module on the right). I'll install a backup camera some other time. I'm not used to using one and never do when I drive newer cars that have em. I did get a free backup camera & wireless phone charging pad from the vendor I bought from. But it's a license plate mount camera & I don't want to use one of those.

Got an obd2 for my Ural motorcycle and while I was waiting for some of the parts to build my cable I decided to hook it up to the tacoma. Cleaned the pesky mass airflow sensor and cleared the codes and now the truck is purring. Gonna check out the performance testing after lunch.
