There's TP in the tub

 

We have carpet in the bathrooms too. I hate it. So much 1980’s high pile carpet. Dog is stoked as our old place was all tile. Little does he know his happy days are numbered.

That's funny. Seems harder to drill the hole than anything!

My guess is the new cable part is not in the box.

 

They could have just knocked out the hole above rather than drill a new hole

 

But I think one is outside the box

undo that coax connector , take cover plate off , reconnect them and stuff it in the box , reinstall cover plate

 

I know right!?

Any good way of telling if I can just remove it other than disconnecting it and seeing if I lose internet?

when I was a kid , in the '70's

 

I would like to eliminate all coax and have a single good quality (if there is such a thing for coax) line run directly to my modem.

 

I was hoping an A/C sniffer probe could tell me if it was active but have no idea if coax is AC or DC or even enough voltage to sniff.

Can I put a meter on the nut and ground it to tell if it's live?

 

Ground some floors down, moved hopefully the last drywall I’ll ever have to upstairs and built a temporary floor so the ceiling can be easily drywalled in the foyer. I’m pooped. Roll tide.

 

I'm sure somebody will chime in , here we run internet through CAT 5e or CAT6 cable

Everything after the modem is cat 6 but the only ISP connection is Coax unfortunately.

The coax going into the service box has a tough orange jacket and is much thicker than a normal coax line, just want to minimize any branches or junctions from there, don't know if it effects speeds but I am *NOT* getting what I am paying for speed wise.
