It's BT mashbill #1 at barrel proof, 130ish.

Flavor profile is very similar to BT, but as is typically the case with barrel proofs everything is cranked up to 11.

Speaking of BT, that's my sipper tonight.

Gotta say I am completely baffled. The states who rail relentlessly about government intrusion into their lives have their alcohol sales controlled by the... government. The state exclusively controls the distribution, sales and price of a product. It's communism!

Sorta /s, but is it though?

We have a 3 tier system in SC. The liquor store has to buy from a distributor. Can't buy directly from the manufacturer.

Nay, it's just regulation. The state doesn't produce the liquor and it is most certainly private property before, during, and after distribution.

Because most of the liquor control states (especially those with a monopoly on sales) are conservative, you run into the interesting combination of conservative economic policies and conservative stances on social issues. So, against regulation on most things unless they are things that conservatives find to be distasteful. And then, much regulation. Also, control states that have tried to privatize have found that liquor control is a significant source of revenue, and it’s very hard to do away with the regulation and monopoly. Plus you have strong links to religious conservatism (no hard alcohol sales on Sunday’s and none at all before noon in my state).

Evidence does show, however, that the states with alcohol control have less problems with, for example, underage drinking. And, they have great prices!

There are pros and cons to both situations.

I saw this in Myrtle Beach and was very tempted…what’s it like? Maybe next time I see it I’ll snag one. Believe it’s allocated in SC.

It’s smooth and sweet on the front end but the high ABV is present the whole way through. Not too many bourbons leave my mouth numb.

It's a Willett brand, but the juice origin is uncertain, possibly Heaven Hill. If so, it will assuredly be up your alley.
