Got any history on this rig? How long have you owned it?

When was the timing belt and water pump last changed?

I’ve owned it since 2019. The timing belt and water pump along with the pulleys and cam bearings was changed when it had 150k. Coolant was also drained from the block and radiator.

That's news to me since my understanding is that all dcabs came with auto which uses the electronic button. Learned something today.

Nice, what configuration was it from factory? I thought all 4x4 dcabs were auto with the electronic tcase.

Now I'm wondering why the J shift in some 4x4 TRD Dcab and not in others.

I was under the impression that all the TRDs has the manual j shift, so it surprised me seeing this one with the electronic. My 2001 DC 4x4 has the j shift. His might be a rare combination....?

My '01 Double Cab 3.4 4x4 w/ TRD has push button 4wd. I drove it off the lot that way. I actually thought that all the DC's had push button :notsure: Probably just came down to what the factory had on hand that day. haha

    That's a clean truck though.

Yeah maybe. I think mine is pretty basic though so maybe just a lower options package...?

Xtra cab TRD here, push button 4wd. Most 1st gens I've seen first hand have been push button especially after 2001. I know the J shift was offered throughout but I think it became less common toward 2004

Yes, this is a factory push button 4wd. I believe some were j-shift and some were push button. As far as reliability wise, I have had no issues with it and has been smooth shifting in and out of 4wd. I only cycle it on pavement on a straight road to get the fluids circulated since I do not use it offroad.
