Which shield is only impacted by how “professional” and “determined” your thief is. A well prepared or determined theif will get what he wants and isn’t worried about the cost. They committed at the start and made the decision to stay in the first 10 seconds. You’re really presenting a deterrent.
I went with Talon because it’s imposing and the wings add to the trouble with access. I made it just a bit more complicated by using the security bolts, the originals (included), and I also got some stainless flange head. With each of the locations having at leas two different type, will make anyone think twice (including me) about removal.

Here I am, back again after starting this thread in March of last year and still haven't got a shield. So far, I've not had my converter stolen but it seems things are picking back up again. There are still fewer options for those of us that own the 2.7l. Most of the major manufacturers offer something that will cover only one of our two inline converters. Millercat seems to be the best option at the moment. I just thought I'd check in again to see if anyone knows of other good options that will cover both converters on the 4 banger.

Alas, these don't fit the 2.7l.

I'm in Houston and would love to support a local business, but the site says that one only covers the front converter.

I just dropped off the second version at the shop to do a second test fit. Hoping to get back later this week to look it over. It should be pretty soon. We are also in the willow brook area so we are right there.

So im kinda bummed here. As far as I understand there is not a single CAT guard on the market that will fit my truck and cover BOTH catalytic converters. Truck is a 16 access cab 2.7, manual transmission. Nothing for it out there to cover both cats. If anyone knows any different, please let me know.

@Talon2006 Emailed you. I would be interested in a cat guard for my 2016 access cab 2.7 manual transmission 4x4. I can't find anything on the market that covers BOTH the cats on my truck. I would like to get something though. Thanks

RCI makes a great Catalytic guard. It can't be removed without unbolting the transfercase plate (you need it too) . But the transfer plate is actual 2 parts and unless your a taco Catalytic converter pro you will just cut and cut and cut, only to find out you can't remove the transfer plate without losening the transmission plate. Which you guessed it. You can't lose without losenening the engine plate.

Good luck to anyone who wants to attack that. The cat would be completed destroyed if you went at it with a saw. They know that, and move on to the next tacoma up the street (hopefully not yours)

I'd love to see someone cut through my 1/4 inch steel.

I realize for most this option is a bit of overkill. But if you plan on completing your skid plate package anyway this could be a great option with a company with well thought out designed product
