I’m withya. I’m still with stock uppers (still able to get the alignment right and the ball joint angle is perfs imo).
i used the money for aftermarket uppers for hammer hangers

Pretty sure those drop bracket kits do not require after market UCA.

Cause the factory geometry still in play right?

Been putting the @AccuTune Offroad Uca's through the ringer! A dozen days of hard wheeling, a day at the dunes, and a couple thousand miles in and the balljoints are still tight with zero squeaks from them and the heims.

I've been looking to get a set of aftermarket uca and originally I was thinking of JBAs because I hear they have a decent range of adjustability, but I see on their website that they will not clear 255/85r16 tire/wheels without 4in + of backspacing. I currently have 255/85r16 Wildpeak MT01 with the bronze Trail Edition wheels (specifically these, https://parts.elmhursttoyota.com/p-...wheel-set-w-center-caps-tacobrnztrailwheelset) which seems like they won't clear the jbas. With that being said, I'm at a complete loss at which set of uca I wanna get now. I've tried reading a whole bunch of threads regarding alignment, different aftermarket uca, and rubbing and I barely even understand what camber is. I've read some owners got the JBAs and their tire was moved rearward towards the rear fender liner (this is caster, right?) and was rubbing which concerns me. I mainly want aftermarket upc because I hear it'll alleviate the "wandering" or help stability on the freeway instead of constantly making micro-corrections with your steering. Sometimes I feel like I'm driving a Wrangler with how much I have to control the steering on the freeway. Currently, I have Bilstein 6112 on the front lifted 2". If anyone has any ideas what I should look for, please let me know. I'm considering just getting a set of Freedom Offroad upc since I've seen some users running those and liking them and they're cheaper than most other reputable brands. My main concerns are what was sacrificed to get that lower price, is it easy to grease the ball joints, and will my wheel/tire combo clear the upcs?

Have you noticed any vibrations in the steering wheel or floor since they have heims and not rubber or polyurethane bushings.

I think you mean "UCA" not "upc". Alignment can get pretty complicated, which is why we put together a few articles that discuss different types of upper control arms and alignment. If you are interested in learning more, here are some links that may be helpful:

Thanks, I don't know how I kept typing "upc" lmao. It was late at night for me. But I'll have a look at the link. Thanks.

I am right now. I had these on my 4Runner and never had a problem now a year after install on my Tacoma i have one ball joint with a lot of play Never off road never abused mostly highway miles looking at replacements now. i have a camper trip in a week pretty pissed to be honest the amount of play, over a quarter inch, is concerning

My exact symptoms. It's a shame such an expensive part can give so quickly. Are you going to warranty them or just go different route?

they suck. Personally saw it on a buddy’s truck who just keeps chasing problems.

these look promising but haven’t seen anyone with it yet. Hefty price tag too.

I have SPCs with quite a few miles on them and they have been grief free. Replaced the balljoints at 30k or so, have 10k or so on the new ones.

That's fair. The original BJs still had some life left but was chasing a noise in my suspension (wasn't the UCAs) and swapped them because I had them.

That's actually good to hear I've encountered more people with bad experience than good
