Then that will work, might have to take it to an exhaust shop to make a little pipe to join it to the old pipe since your truck came with two cats.

 

I have extra pipe from the exhaust system I bought. I have a single cab and they sent me a kit for a deluxe. We just cut it

Is something wrong with your original manifold? The 01-04 3RZ manifolds aren't known for having problems.

If you're replacing just to get more vroom vroom noises, I'd be happy to take care of the original manifold for you.

I mean if it's in good shape I'll install it in my truck. Earlier (95-99) Tacomas used a cast manifold that's prone to cracking. The best fix is an OE 01-04 manifold.

Mine isn't cracked yet, but it seems to be only a matter of time from what I've read.

Sounds like yours isn't worth re-using, though, so carry on.

Has anyone bought the head gasket kit from yotashop? I’m thinking of buying from them when I find the time to do it. I’ve bought some other smaller stuff from them with good experience.

yeah they made them all 50 state emissions eventually by 2000 I think. Easier and probably more cost effective than trying to make different emission spec'ed cars for different states.

 

We just don't have any legal requirement to put in CARB compliant cats here as replacements
