    @JustDSM I’ll try to keep it brief. Had a few trouble codes, including ABS. Did not have a reader that could read ABS, so I tried to see if the HP Tuner software could read them (not really know if it could). It didn’t, so then I thought if I reloaded the tune I received from you that it would reset the ABS. In doing so it read some error (sorry, I can’t remember it), then the truck would not start (would crank but not start). The HP Tuner device started to come up with “failed init: failed to start”, and the other code reader will not connect to the truck.

    Sounds like you’ve bricked your ECU. But without specific details (like battery voltage during flash) or a multitude of other things it’s any ones guess what happened.

    Your ABS issues are unrelated to the tune. You’ll want to have that diagnosed separately.

    @JustDSM So worst case scenario I’ve bricked the ECU…what are my options in your opinion? Just new ECU and have Toyota reprogram it?

    I have an an extra ecm I would part with but we need to confirm compatibility 1st. Mine is for an supercharged 09 4x4 auto

    Yeah, I have a 15 4x4 Man trans. No, worries. Just kinda needed the 2nd opinion so I can buy/find the ecm then will take to Toyota to reprogram. Thanks!

    Id pick up a used one, though '15 Manual ECUs are pretty slim to find on the used market. In a pinch, I can convert an Auto ECU for use in a Manual. As the Auto ECUs are literally a dime a dozen in comparison.

    The staff here on TW have come to an agreement that all major tuning threads will remain locked for a while. Why you ask? We get endless reports and messages regarding tuners bickering with other tuners or other unacceptable behavior. We are sick and tired of the immature actions and this is the last straw. The threads will be unlocked in one week. If there is ONE more instance of bickering, shitting on a competitors thread, or any more reports, we will remove all tuning threads and block it from future discussion. This is the last chance.

    Side note: BST rules still apply to tuners. Don’t join TW just to peddle your tunes without actively participating in the community or you will find yourself banned.

    You need a step-by-step for the physical ECU removal, or the resync procedure?

    Attached you’ll find the resync procedure to be done after you physically swap ECU’s.
