What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Thanks man, I really want to step up to 315's at least but I will have to ditch the spacer lift that came with the truck. Been looking at a Radflo kit just cant pull the trigger. What flares are those?

 

Whelp, anybody have a passenger side spindle for sale? Haven't confirmed yet but seems like that's the case.

Don’t overthink it too much lol. The lift doesn’t really matter if the height is all about the same. The Radflo’s, Fox, King, ADS, etc will all just ride a whole hell of a lot better and give you better dampening offroad

Yelp…napa axles…honestly don’t know if oem would’ve been better, but did order some and use warranty for these as spares. Not even 10 mins on a course n my wheel got stuck n trying to get out with it against the wall. Snapped the boot at the wheel. Just yanked off the other boot n pulled off so I could drive home. Just gonna keep it this way till parts come in.

I just put gusseted spindles on my truck about a month ago, with how heavy my truck is and all the dumb things I've done it's a wonder I never bent one, it doesn't take much to bend one it just has to be at just the right angle and it just caves.

Still hoping your's are okay but I'd still gusset them anyway.


@m00seNUckLEz did mine with JD fab double shear heim steer kit, incredibly quick, excellent quality and fit and reasonably priced for what you get.

If you do it yourself or have an independent shop do it be careful with the spacing, if it's too far out you can have brake dust shield fitment issues.

I put a list of mods I could do on here awhile ago. #5 was coolant flush and power steering flush.

 

My truck has basically zero added weight, and my idea of offroading is 30+ on decently smooth fire roads lol. Pretty bummed mine might possibly be bent after something easy.

 

Yeah I'm not, My 285's have less than 8k on them and I only drive it 5 or 6k a year lol. Suspension will definitely come before I need tires.

 

I did the annual pre-winter "drop the spare to the ground" check and maintenance. It wasn't smooth or effortless and made a few squeaks, but it worked once it broke free. Inspection of the mechanism with the wheel removed showed a little rust on the winch and chain, but not bad. I sprayed it all down with Fluid Film, including the inner and outer surface of the wheel. It cranked back up much easier/smoother without all the drama it had on the way down. Going forward, I'm going to do this twice a year. In the spring I'll prob just drop it and crank it right back up.

 

Had some air line laying around and did the evaporator drain extension.

 

What's the deal LaminX? Has anyone else's films done this? Been on a year... Both are burning up.

 

My ‘08 Tacoma has 419,000 miles on it and still runs/rides good. For a year or so I was was getting a code for the catalytic converter system. I would clear the code and it would stay off for several months. Recently the check engine light would come on just about every day after I cleared it. I could hear noise coming from the catalytic converter up front so I finally decided to have it replaced.
I got my truck back and the next day the check engine light came on again. The code, P0101, indicated it was a faulty MAF sensor. So I went to O’Reilys and got a new one and replaced it. I then drove my truck for a while and the check engine light came on again and the same code came up again. Could someone fill me in on what may be causing this? What would you do?
