They're nice, but will crack (the coating) with age and frequent use. I took some purple 3M electrical tape to my 21, 19, and 17mm deep impact sockets and they hold up better with that.

I love stories like this. I also have a local proprietor like this. I don't often shop there because prices are higher but guaranteed they have oddball items. Family has owned the two story hardware store since 1885 when my town was a snowbird town for well to do yankees. The old timer sits up behind the desks, and as you walk in- he greets everyone. How can I helpye? He's like a gate keeper and I'm testing him. You can tell he enjoys the challenge. I say what I want, he gives very specific directions. 3rd aisle, bout 12 feet down, eye height on your right. Galvanized and stainless. You probably just want galvanized. He has signs on the walls that I know have been there 100 years. What a place.

Actually, I have. And I know you know that I meant Milwaukee Electric Tools.

Also, @Fargo Taco, Tektron (I think that's the brand of torque wrench you bought?) is the parent company of Milwaukee Electric Tools.

All mine are the Pittsburgh brand impact sockets... :anonymous:

The 3M tape is some really good stuff and helps against the ever so slim chance of scuffing.

21mm for the Tacoma, 19mm for the Subaru, and 17mm for the Jetta...

Family owned company in Michigan, something I liked about their website when I was researching torque wrenches was this quote:
"Tools, like many things, don't have to be expensive to work well—they need to be made well to work well."

I think battery powered would be nice, no cords running under the door and easily moved from upstairs to downstairs to garage. But as far as powering a fridge to get it back down to 35°-40°, not sure how many times it would do that or how quick. I think if we get one, it would be propane powered, if I don’t go the 40V route. I’d just need to keep 1 or 2 20lb propane tanks on hand.

That's the same size as 21mm

I often order the metric equivalent to all the SAE sizes we use at work so nobody swipes my shit. With the "budget crunch" I can't order my normal Proto wrenches so it has saved me the headache of ordering replacement ones...

You will need to read the manufacturers recommendations carefully regarding propane tank size.
High demand devices don't run well on small tanks, the fuel can't convert from liquid to gas rapidly enough to satisfy the demand, regulators freeze up and you also can't pull the full volume from the tank.

If the city/county/power company would clear the power lines I wouldn’t be in this situation!

Tekton has a really good warranty service as well. I have a few specialty sockets from them and sheered one. They asked for specific photos and promptly sent me a replacement within a week. All online. No calling or mailing.

Need some recommendations on multi-function welders.

My Millermatic 175 may have crapped the bed…but maybe not. I was Mig welding and all of a sudden my welds looked like splatter. Gas is good, I have a new (6 months old) Miller gun and liner. It feels like the rod speed is coming out way to fast for the amperage. Of course when I turn it down it doesn’t work either. Not sure what is going on. My welder has seen 20 years of pretty good use so I’m happy with the performance/longevity.

I was lucky one of my friends wasn’t using his Miller 211.

My Brother is a welder for BNSF and some of those guys like the Everlast machines. Anyone use them?

The Tekton torque wrench I got a few years ago really surprised me, very nice for the price and it was accurate when I compared it to others I have.

I have looked at a few of their tools, all seem to be solid builds, if they stay the course I think the company will grow nicely in the future.

Sounds like you are talking about BLUETTI stuff… like
    https://www.bluettipower.com/pages/ac500b300s
But hey, it’s only money. Also, no 220v, etc. However, folks go whole house NG at that point. When you approach that price point, you start talking radiators or cooldown cycling and more.

Hard to beat the Millermatic for quality, might be worth having it looked at by a welding shop.

Might find something here as well:
