Admittedly not reading 900 pages of ‘this is what I’m drinking, or ‘this it the best bottle I’ve got….

but there do seem to be some Jack Daniels fans here,
any fellow Tennessee Squires on the TW forums?

    Cheers

No one expects you to catch up on the entire thread, I certainly didn’t. It’s fun to poke around in though and see what stuff used to cost.

By the way most people here think regular JD tastes like shit, but they redeemed themselves somehow with the single barrel, barrel proof. It’s like if the Raiders went from 0-3 to winning the super bowl (no offense to Raiders fans).

Y'all remember back when Booker's was good and was *expensive* at 60 bucks? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

That's not really fair... I haven't bought one since the 2020 batches but they turned me off with the higher price point and lower quality. Have they turned things around with recent batches? Probably couldn't find one if I wanted to though.

If you’re looking for Michters, I can probably do that as part of the $200 you have to spend

Which ones? Only looking for the limited editions, I can get all the regular US-1 stuff.

Yeah. Appreciate it though. I need to try the other stuff, other than the SB rye.

I don't really have any pre-2020 Booker's experience. I consider the recent stuff I have had to be among the best whiskey I've tried. For me, it's very worth the $90ish price point.

Booker’s 2021-03 has had excellent reviews.

next time I’m at the store I just picked up the orphan barrel from I’ll look for what you are trying to find. Shits wildly all over the place with pricing. Got those for under MSRP, but weller 12 year in the same display case is $300. Their selection is awesome though if you ever go through Flemington anytime soon.

I became discouraged by the changes in the profile they were turning toward. I was opting to grab KC picks over Booker's. I used to make the joke that a KC 14yo Total Wine pick was the best Booker's batch I had in 2019.

Glad to hear the recent stuff is doing it for you! I'll have to give them another chance should I happen across one up here. Slim pickings here in Idaho.

I have found a few drops of water to be critical in my high proof bourbons. Something to consider if you're not a minimal-dilution guy.
