    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    i still bought a fram after that and my engine did not implode. i have previously bought toyota filters and just did my 50k change w/ one as well. just because someone uses a fram/k&n/mobil1, napa filter does not mean their truck will run like crap and kill itself for the humiliation of running a non-toyota filter b/c some guy on the internet said so.

    I never said your truck would implode, but if you watch that video you can see for your own eyes that the inside of the toyota filter is superior to the lesser brands. For the price there is no reason to use a shitty filter.

    and if you watch that video, the filtering media in the toyota filter from the dealer is the same media they warn you about at the dealership as being counterfit.

    if that's the little plug on under the oil filter, it's only there to keep excess oil from dripping down after the oil runs out of the filter when you twist it to change it. it's not a showstopper. just make sure you get out all of the oil from the catch so that you dont leave oil spots on the driveway right after you change it.

    The oil gasket I got was platic but one I removed was metal WTf why dies it seem like the dealer istryung to fuck me bc Im doing it myself instead of paying him 50$

    if you read what i initially said, i've bought toyota in the past, and just put on w/ my oil change last week. trying to scare people shitless for the fear of their engines dying over one filter on one oil change is a little harsh. not saying you said those exact words or construed to them, just making a point.
