You'd have to look that turbo up on Comp Turbos. Or whatever their website may be. Looks like they have designed it not to use any oil nor coolant. Thus the reason that the center cartridge is so long. To help keep the bearings cooler.

That's inside the cab too! everything sounds perfect. No leaks or knocks, got it up to temp and gave it some baby revs. Time will tell, I was within oil clearance spec, but just barely. It's going to make it to the last autocross of the year on October 8th, so we'll see if the bearings survive two days of torture.

I'm very excited. I've missed driving it, even if I'm not putting it back on the street again.

May I ask why you’re not going to drive on the street anymore?
Oh, I got my notches welded in and I’m pretty sure they are not going to crack as they are completely welded in all the way around! I even asked where the bump stop gets threaded in to be welded in.

Not knocking you for posting/BS'ing in here, but why do you not have a build thread for this truck? I'm sure everyone would like to check it out, myself included :D

I know what you mean! I'm interested to see how it holds up at the auto cross whenever you get it out there. That should be a blast

It's too low to get inspected in Maine, exhaust isn't even laughably legal, and the mods I'm planning are so track/race oriented it doesn't make sense to try and do it. Roll cage, stripped interior with no airbags, buckets with 5 point harnesses. Pretty much it won't be safe to drive without a helmet.

    You as well sir!

    Because race truck

When i decide to jump down the forged internals rabbit hole, i think a turbo or two will follow soon thereafter. I think the magnuson is a little undersized for what i want to do if the bottom end isn't the limiting factor.. Im thinking twin borgwarner EFR 7163s will be in the plan one day unless something better comes out by then

Probably because I don’t know where to begin / or really how to. :anonymous:
Plus I never thought my ideas for the truck would really interest anyone because this website is mostly 4x4 stuff. Kind of like you turning your Pre-runner into a All Wheel drive. You have the skills and abilities to do your own awesome work. Like building your own turbo system then tuning it.  Me the vendor installed the supercharger & tuned it. Me I bolted in the water / meth kit, no big deal plus I made mistakes that you told me what I needed to do. (Thanks for your advice) I had pay someone else install the alarm & stereo systems and another do the welding. Me I just did stupid easy bolt on $hit no real skills. Sorry but I’m not much better than that bonehead Tacomaholic. My feelings are if you can’t do your own work who cares? Me I need others to do the skilled work me I just bolt in the easy $hit. Sorry just being honest.

    Sorry Sir I didn’t know! My apologies…

Indeed. It was to the point of "this is more fun racing and beating the crap out of, than it is driving on the road" because I was slow as hell on the highway, I just looked kinda neat while doing it.

No worries, it's a legitimate question since I did manage to have it on the road for a year without too many problems.

Ok, then I think you may want to set the suspension up a little better? Probably start off removing the frozen front coil-overs to get a set that has a little less spring rate. Install a TrueTrac or something similar. Move some weight from the left front corner to the right rear corner. Yada Yada Yada… Just saying.
I’ve helped many owners of those rag top Mazda cars that are so prevalent in autocross. This is my old 07 just before the new owners took position of it. I sold it to help fund the 07 Taco. At one point I had the suspension setup so stiff that I hated driving the car. But turned it back to mostly stock. A lot of trial & error mostly errors! I’m not trying to belittle your Taco actually just the opposite I love to see you kick @$$! Sorry but many of the Mazda car owners are arrogant @$$holes and I love nothing better than to see you kick some @$$‼️
