So I was looking at SUA kits the other evening because I was considering buying one with a little persuasion from some beers. I see now what Harry means when he refers to other hangers as boat anchors, holy shit.

The bobbed bed presents some minor difficulties with the rear hanger, as well as building another rear bumper will be tricky due to how I have my current one mounted.

Any problem can be solved but it was enough for me to talk myself out of it lol

Lol you don't know what you're missing! I put my entire old setup on my fiancés truck including the hammer hangers and shock relocate. It was the most entertaining/Disgusting thing ever to take her truck out in the morning then come home and hop in mine for the rest of the day. Its literally something that has to be experienced to understand. I assure you, whatever mods you would need to do would be worth while. I gotta play devils advocate here lol. Single biggest improvement to date.

I know I know, someone else on IG was telling me essentially the same thing and how much of game changer it is. Seeing more real world testimonies from people is starting to sway me. If I did it I would keep it simple with some 16"x2.5 king smoothies and build a little bed cage. Selling my old stuff off would put me into it like $1500.

Which is exactly what Harry was telling me like a month ago but stubborn me wouldn't listen.

Your factory rear hanger location is still there right, so should be fine.
Also, if you're still mulling it over come ATR 2023, I'll be there and you can take it for a spin and run a tape measure all over it. Won't be a direct comparison though since I'm still stock front end.

That's not really the issue. The JD hanger pokes up above the frame rail a bit and I don't have that room there anymore. That's not too big a deal, some cutting would fix that.

The other hurdle is the rear bumper. You can see how my current one piggybacks on my hammer hanger mounting points but the JD hanger has a rib on the back that would prevent that. So I'd just have to get a little creative and build a new rear bumper (which I've been wanting to do anyways.)

Like I said, not the end of the world hurdles but still something that would need addressing.

Might need a custom solution from Harry on that one. The bumper you might be able to get in there by trimming the bracket and sliding it between the hanger and the bracket, but I'm not sure the deflection in there with the rubber bushing, so it might bind up. or just bolt in from the opposite side.

I’d be interested to hear the sua thoughts for guys that daily/dual use their trucks. I have been considering them for quite a while but am concerned for the times when I have to pull our small camp trailer. It’s about a 500lb hitch weight but I always run a wdh.
