House of the Dragon

Well, there was that scene with Alicent and the King where she brought it up and he shut her down saying the implications were too dire, so even he probably knows it but wants to keep the lie going for the sake of the realm. But without him there to do that, things seem as though they will start to burn down quick.

 

On another note, suicide by dragon is metal AF

 

Yeah, I was wondering why Alicent wanted to see the baby straight away.

That scene from the Labor Room to the Queen's Chamber was the longest walk!

 

Unworthiness was a compelling decision.

 

I saw someone comment on FB that in the books she apparently doesn't make it to Vhagar in time. Glad they changed it for the show, that was both awesome and extremely depressing

 

These jumps in times are really starting to get to me lol this latest episode rapidly lost my interest…so I hope they can pick up the pace in the coming episodes. It’s been good so far so I really hope it doesn’t go downhill now thay we’re halfway through.

 

It didn't lose my interest but I care way less about Rhaenyra now with the actress change. She's not nearly as good, or as nice to look at , as younger Rhaenyra.

Daemon carries this show for me, so as long as he is around I'll be invested. But this is Game of Thrones, so I try not to get too attached to a character. I still haven't recovered from The Viper

 

I’m glad I’m not the only one thinking that! Maybe it’s the underlying cause of my disinterest.

Daemon does continue to carry, I’d imagine we’ll soon see him actually make some moves and progress in taking over. I haven’t found myself even really getting connected to one character quite yet. Gotta get over these jumps and reorient mysef to what the hell is going on.

 

There isnt ONE redeaming character. Everyone is a dick, scheming, etc. At least in GOT you liked people. I cant watch this anymore, its just not very good.

 

I haven't really attached myself to any character.

Young Rhaenyra did have an innocence that turned serious in that scene with Ser Cristen--The crown was bigger than her.

I'm trying to like new Rhaenyra and so far, I still need to see more scenes with her.

Alicent has changed quite a bit...didn't see any mention of her marred fingernails.

Daemon is the antagonist of the series so far...I do like his character although, he is complicated.

Looking forward to next episode on Sunday.

 

I've read some comments here and there elsewhere online from people that have read the books and hinted at spoilers. I won't spoil anything but from what I understand there is some big action coming down soon, especially now that they're much further in time and the kids have started to grow.

Once the King is gone the battle for the throne will be epic with all this drama over who has a rightful claim. I feel like thats why we haven't seen too many dragon sequences yet (last episode probably had the most)...they're saving all that dragon CGI budget for the battle scenes to come.

Yeah I saw a similar comment, apparently in the books she dies from a fever trying to get to Vhagar after giving birth to a stillborn. The ending they gave her in the show was way better.

There is also another spin off that prequels House of the Dragon called 10,000 Ships that focuses on Nymeria and Dorn.

There are other spin offs in the works as well, even an animated series.

We will be knee deep in GOT content for a long time

 

First half of the new episode had me trying to figure out who is who. The queen was made to be hated now (started out very innocently) and Rhaenyra this new character takes some time to get used to. Kinda of hard to root for those 2 now. I think Daemon is the only one I see myself rooting for now.

 

I think that was alluding to the fact that this show's time period takes place toward the end of all dragon existence, just a couple hundred years later during GoT there would be no more dragons at all (well, at first).

I think I remember at some point in GoT they talked about how before the dragons died off, they got smaller and smaller/weaker and weaker and then just stopped hatching at all. Then comes Dany and her 3 dragons 200 years later. I'm still miffed about the Night King killing and turning Viserion, that scene sucked lol.

 

They stop letting the dragons live free and keep them in the pits so they don't grow or live as long and eventually die off

 

I'm glad Daemon grew his hair back. That Flippy bangs doo reminded me of someone I really hated back when. Now I'm doing internet searches trying to find the butt pirate.
