    Anyone know what could be causing this? It's only on one of my tires so far. Tires are only about 4000 miles old. Should I be concerned? Is this premature failure? Ignorance is bliss?

    They are warrantying it! Replacing it next week. Thanks for the suggestion.

    They said it was most likely something in the mold when the tire was made.

    Made for Australia, they drive on the opposite side, with the road crown on the right, might make it drive straight there.

    Interesting, I could buy into this theory. Then I guess my confusion would be, are the Maxx's directional? Couldn't these be mounted with pattern going right on one side and flipped left on the other?

    Am I thinking about how tires can be mounted as wrong?

    Edit: Ignore me, I'm dumb, the pattern would remain the same.....

    Side note, anyone know where these might be available right now? Tire rack is quoting July stock for me

    Just for informational purposes, I ran a set of StMaxx's on my 3rd gen 4Runner from October 2015-June 2020. They were 285/75/16's, rotated every 5K miles. I was able to get exactly 63,225 miles out of them. One blew a flat, AAA tried to refill it and it popped. So there was that.

    Just measured from ground to bottom of front body mount bolt and it was 17.75" with a good amount of trimming. It still bottoms out and scrapes a little though.

    Not gonna lie, I do miss my St Maxx's. I love my AT3 XLT's, but those St Maxx's were mean... maybe I'll be fortunate enough to see another set of tires go on my truck in the future though!
