RPM on highway w/ 2.7????????

    Ok i just recently bought a 2003 Taco with the 2.7 in it and i was wondering if it is normal for it to rev at 2400rpm at 60mph???

    Bilstein 5100 adjustables, 2 inch top plate spacer, bilstein 5100 rears and 2 inch blocks. Flowmaster super 10 with dual 4 inch tips.
    at 65 mph im at 2300 to 2400 rpms. 70 im at 2400 to 2500. and 75 im usually at 2500 to 2700

    at 70 mine is at 3000 ha ha so i am wondering if the owner before me put different gears?hmmmm?

    Most likely that is about right. Toyota designed these engines to work optimally at 2200-3200 rpm.

    How many RPMs do you run at 55 MPH? What size tires do you have? What gear ratio do you have? I run 2000 RPMs at 55.

    ya im runnin about that too with 31's and stock gears

    yeah thats close to where mine is seems a little high but its a yota they no what there doing ha ha
