Do you want the drama? If not then get away from them, 20 years or not.

Good evening folks. Well things came to a halt on the full time traveling the last few weeks. Looks like we'll be here for a while tending to SIL. Did not plan an extended stay but it's called for and we're all in to help.
So a week ago I eluded to seeing some cars, Shelbys to mention a few. Had a friend who called a friend and let me know this shop was looking for a parts guy. Talked to them and they hired me. I was shocked but I'm also a little seasoned and I think that's what they needed. Can't say now who it is because of client data and whatnot, but it's Kindig, Foose and ole Boyd Coddington level stuff. Only a few places that are licensed to reproduce the Shelby. I'm excited and things went great today so glad I made the decision to delay our travels.
I'll post a little more once I get settled in.
Y'all be safe out there and look out for hurricanes and tornados you folks in the South.

my landlord hasn't shut off our outside water yet so i figured i'd take advantage and give Toy a little spa day - probably his last before winter. so wash, wax and polish in 90 minutes. by comparison chebby took close to 4 hours for the same a few weeks back!

also, is it weird that i love the smell of mother's chrome polish?

Hmmm, maybe. It's been so long since I used any kind of polish on my truck that I don't remember what it smells like.

A dear friend of 20 years wouldn't do anything deliberately shady to you... it sounds like it's time to part ways.

I like the smell of Wenol polish, although the only shiny part on either vehicle is the Taco rear bumper, and I just don't polish it. It should be happy that it gets some Mothers car shampoo a few times a year.

It's difficult to give good advice without knowing all the W's. However, I agree with the other comments so far. I'd hope someone I considered a friend wouldn't do something shady to me. If someone did do something shady to me, I would know not to call them a friend anymore.

You can always confront them about whatever occurred, but to me, a friend doing something shady to me would be akin to discovering a cheating spouse. The trust that made the friendship would be broken, and mending that trust would be incredibly difficult.

You guys have already made some great points. Here are the details.

I have a female friend that I've been friends with since before either of us were married. So she's also known my wife for 20 years and I've known her husband for about 15 years. We've been to each others weddings, birthdays, holiday parties, Super Bowl parties, etc. My wife and I struggled with infertility for a little over 10 years, multiple miscarriages, two failed adoptions, etc. So all of the aforementioned family gatherings were a nice distraction from all of the struggles that we were going through at the time. In 2018 we were finally blessed with our son and after trying for so long he truly is our little miracle. Even when our son was born they were the first to come over a couple of days after and bring us food and the first year or so of his life everything was normal between us. But since New Years 2020, coming up on 3 years we've only seen them briefly twice, and we only live 10 minutes away from each other. I never would have dreamed that now that our son is here he wouldn't even know who our dear friends are. And the recent thing that was extra shitty was my friend reached out to my wife asking for the name of a caterer that we've used at a few parties (all of which they were invited to), as she was planning her husbands 50th B-Day. Not being invited to the party was a minor snub in comparison to the message that was sent by having the balls to ask for the reference knowing that they had no intention of inviting us in the first place, that's not just a snub, that's more like a BTW fuck you guys. We had no idea that's how it was going to unfold, but since they did know how can that be taken as being anything but a deliberate diss ? If all of this would have happened to me as a single guy I would probably care less and move on (like the rest of you) but as a dad to an awesome kid is what really stings the most. I left out the part that they have a daughter that's a few years older than our son and they've never invited my son to any of her B-Day parties, pool parties, etc whereas we were always invited before our son was born. BTW, not a day goes by that we aren't eternally grateful for the blessing that our son is in our lives, but that doesn't mean that we don't have feelings... Sorry guys, it's just been festering for a while.

My sister in law was always around and my son loved her. One day she stopped calling, visiting and avoided all contact. Haven't talked to her in 15 years, my son gave up on her long ago and we have no real idea why.

We just moved on. Her loss
