215,000 Tom @95SLE . Just getting "broken" in.... :rimshot:

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Well, the AC guy is on his way back over - replaced the capacitor and it quit running again last night. Hope to be banging on the old water pump in a while, but my pinched nerve butt is killing me!

Doc said all my test numbers were great and he was thrilled. My only complaint is the doughnut cost numbers.

We are running diesel ⛽️ . Filled up this morning at $1.79'9 a litre. Gas is a bit cheaper at $1.49'9 a litre.Fortunately with the exchange rate it isn't putting a dent in the wallet. So it is about close to $7.00 a gallon here. But with the exchange rate it is about $5.00. Same as home. Next time we fill up I'll do a better calculation.

    DOUGHNUTS!!!!

    Aargh!

They are my kryptonite. My dad was the manager of research and development for a national doughnut chain... and I was his guinea pig and executive taste tester as a kid. Thankfully most doughnuts are garbage so I'm not tempted.

My doc retired in 1972, and I haven't been to one since! Probably if I went to a new one now it would be, OMG you should be dead, I'll need to fill out 15 prescriptions to take care of everything that's wrong with you! I made it to 74, probably to 75 without any meds, there may come a time that I need them, but at this stage of the game I'm happy I even made it this far, although another 10 years or so would be OK, I don't expect to be around forever!

We're suddenly 'members" since our last AC guy sold his business to this new one. Priority service, we get! Pressure valve outside went south. He'll quote us up a new one.

Idler pulleys, tensioner, and finally thermostat housing removed. I miss my old 22R, or, heck, even an older 283!

A while ago I asked about loading stone onto the Taco. Here's the results of today's experiment; 1,000 lbs. of 'Pocono 3/4 inch' in the bed of my bone stock truck. The guy at the stone quarry was super nice, went super slow loading. We did 1/4 ton first, the truck didn't even change attitude to speak of. With the full 1/2 ton we could see the deflection. The truck drove okay, obviously the nose was pointing a bit skyward but it was not bottoming out the suspension at all and the brakes were more than up to the job. I don't live very far from the stone folks which helps. I think I could add another 100 lbs, maybe more, but since they're so close I think I'll stick with 1/2 ton and just make an extra trip.

Oh and that amount of stone is about 4 wheelbarrow loads for this scrawny old man.

I just realized, this is NOT a load I'd like to carry with a Dekked system! Not without a tarp under it! Good haul, good planning too!

Archery season here started a couple weeks ago, but up till now, it's been pretty warm out and that's not for me.
I usually start in October when the leaves start dropping and the bugs are gone and go right up to the end of the year.
Took my yearly complimentary 30 yard shot off the back deck.
Guess the crossbow is ready to go.
After missing last season due to the mess in my shoulder, I'm ready to go as well.

    Evening all:

Now you have no excuse if you miss! :D

I have read where some guys sight a crossbow in at 30 yds., that way by using the main crosshair it will be a little high at 20 and a little low at 40, but still in the kill zone. Kind of makes sense, one crosshair that's good from 20-40 without the possibility of using the wrong crosshair on scopes with multiple crosshairs on them. I have a truglo scope as a spare with 9 crosshairs, nice scope but too many crosshairs for my liking!
Glad to hear you are back at it, good luck with the hunting bucktales!
WILL BE WAITING FOR PICS, hopefully Mike can connect with one also.

    Morning all. :hattip:
Trailer was asking about fuel prices. Filled up this morning in Calgoorlie and diesel was 1.99.9 a litre and the land rover took 64.57 litres which was $129.08 in aussie dollars. That's $82.50 US. Still expensive and tomorrow the government is adding the excise tax back on...an additional .20 cents a litre:eek::eek::eek:.

Seems to be the correct size for a stone load. I am taking a second truckload to my cousins this afternoon.

I use a tarp for most loads. Makes getting material out of the space between the bed and tailgate easy.

@ImpulseRed008 Glad the doctor visit was uneventful. My last visit resulted in two more referrals.

Back at removing the shrubs again today. The root system is complex but not deep into the soil. Going to check on getting a price to have 4 cu/yd of a topsoil compost mix delivered and dumped into the driveway. It would save me 4 trips to the garden center at about an hour per trip. Pic of stone load.
