Sounds like a small bracket or something rattling when going across multiple bumps or washboard.
Cant hear it with windows up. Emptied bed and still there. Obv could be many things. I was on the bumpiest paved road known to man last week.

Are there any usual suspects I shoule look at first?

Check that your spare tire is tight, It also may be the winch chain that holds your spare rattling. There isn't much else in the udder region of a Tacoma.[IMG]

Curious if rattle was diagnosed too. I'm experiencing something similar at low speeds coming from the rear of truck. Checked and secured the winch chain, that ain't it.

Helped a coworker narrow down a rattle on his taco. He said it only did it at a certain rpm/ engine load.....
Seemed to be the fuel lines towards the front of the tank where they gather and go down the frame. Lines were actually rubbing against the frame so just bent them enough to clear and that seemed to be it.

    Maybe something to look at?

I had a similar situation last week. Chased it for days. It was driving me nuts. It ended up being a bracket holding the fuel line just behind the gas cap. I peeled back the rear drivers side fender liner and could see a bracket that should be held on with a bolt but the bolt was gone. I added a new bolt with a lock nut and problem solved
