Hood ajar light on, in park???

Maybe I just never noticed it? I never knew this light to come on when the truck is turned off and is in park?

 

Yes. I think I went a few years without noticing it as well. Never was inside the truck when I had the hood open

 

I'll file this under: More odd & useless facts about my Tacoma.

On another note, why is the hood (and tailgate for that matter) so damn heavy! It's like it's three hoods in one.

 

You're not kidding.

Before I had my truck I saw folks were installing gas struts. I thought it was a waste of money. I've never owned a vehicle with gas struts before. But holy shit.... The thing weighs a ton.

My wife's 4Runner has them... Why doesn't the Tacoma?

 

I don't get under my hood that much, so when I saw people putting gas struts, I was like...what a waste of money. Then I lifted a few times and holy shit was I shocked. So I ran out and bought these:




I have no idea why Tacoma's don't come with them, or why the hood is so heavy.

 

Part of the Immobilizer feature...lots do not have.
