I can't remember to be honest. Most likely though. It would go between Alaska and Montana. That inline 6 just ran.

Speaking of just running, my truck likely only needed a thermostat!

Pete (my mechanic) did a pressure test and installed a new thermostat, and told me over the phone that my truck is running great. He is doing a leak-down test on the cylinder head just to be safe, and my truck is getting new brake pads and rear diff fluid earlier than expected since I was originally going to have all that done when I had the oil changed at 160K (presently at 157K and change).

Also, I probably couldn't find that Cruiser again without driving around Rockport for hours; I wasn't driving anywhere in particular and just saw it, so I stopped to take pictures. I don't even remember what street it was on.

Any idea what year it might be? Japanese VINs don't work on Carfax...

    Oddly optioned too...

It has crank windows and an automatic transmission, whereas the ones I saw at Selden Motors were 5-speed and had power everything; I could not tell if this one had A/C, but I'm assuming it does.

Crank windows is the norm for the more rustic LCs, but the auto is a bit odd. I wouldnt mind having crank windows and a 5 speed in mine... havent driven the thing in like month though anyway

Any idea why so many JDM vehicles don't have cruise control? None of the Hiace vans or non-FJ80 LCs seem to have it, nor did either of the two Mitsubishi Delicas I drove or the JDM turbodiesel Pathfinder I saw at Selden...

One Delica owner told me it was because the driving conditions in Japan weren't conducive to using cruise control...? If Kei cars make do with less horsepower than a Harley-Davidson, then I can see why there would be no need for cruise control...

You don't need it, honestly up until the late 90s it wasn't even a thing in europe as standard. We have large areas of emptiness to travel between that they don't. They'd never use it on that tiny island. Kei cars even have alarms if you try to travel about 58mph that go off continually until the driver slows down.

Is there a way to disable that? As more and more vehicles reach 25 years of age, I'm seeing a lot of Kei cars or at least smaller vehicles. I've seen two Nissan PAOs since COVID started, several of those cabover Kei trucks (Daihatsu, Honda, Mitsubishi, Subaru), and a few Honda Acty vans.

Unplug the dinger speaker would be my option. The other ones that cut the speed and engine when you're overspeed might be tougher
