The scoop also aids in this situation.

I had that issue. Stock tires are junk. Not enough tread to get through puddles without hydroplaning (which you probably have also noticed). Change your tires to some good A/Ts. Problem solved.

Next year, hopefully. Gotta pay for a wedding first, and then she's stuck with me proper and I can upgrade Taco's shoes. And wheels. And suspension.

Glad to know better tires might help, though--thanks!

OP haha everyone is making fun of your post but I know exactly what you mean! I was driving in NY right after crossing the Tapan Zee bridge in a torrential downpour. I was in the left lane in a pack of traffic that had to slow down to maybe 40mph because the visibility was so bad . The highway banked slightly to the left and the drainage in a section was terrible. I hit a section where water flooded the road and for several seconds I couldn't see a thing with Niagra Falls on my windshield. It was terrifying because I had cars on my right, a guardrail a couple feet away on my left, and couldn't slam on the brakes because there were cars right on my bumper. Since then I have noticed that the truck throws a large amount of water forward rather than to either side (compared to other vehicles I have driven in heavy rain). I suppose, as a previous post said, that the approach angle and high ground clearance just allows so much more water going forward when you hit deep water at high speed. Probably no way to prevent other than to slow down.

It's happened to me before. I may have hit the puddle at less than 20, that's the trick.

How long have you been driving in Houston?

Because the only answer when riding down Post Oak is full send, make a wave big enough to hydrolock the car next to you. :anonymous::anonymous::anonymous:

Perhaps a lecture on driving through puddles should be added to driver training courses.

    This guy gets it lol.

Ok to be fair her dad is kicking in a lot.... but it's still going to hurt the wallet pretty deep. Big wedding. I told her dad I want some cows as dowry, he told me he'd hand them over as soon as I had land to put them on, so that's also fair.

I intentionally drive through puddle of water. I want it to splash on me as high as possible.
