So I am about to pull the trigger on my 2'' lift and really really really want Summit Dakars or Sierras but the -25 offset scares me, plan on keeping 265/70r17s so not worried about stuffing, etc. what I am worried about is the stance / poke destroying the paint on the side of my truck. She is a mall crawler and my daily driver, I live in the burbs and commute highway so no gravel roads, just wanted to see how many are out there with decent negative offset daily drivers and their paint after a few years. I am trying to avoid PPF'ing those areas, only time I ran - offset was in AZ and my rockers were not happy but that also is rock paradise.

I have a -10 offset running a 285/70/17 and I am getting some rock marks on my rear plastic fender flares (oem) , nothing on the bed yet tho, but I have blasted down some fire roads and I am sure it was from that and not daily driving

Cool, even my stock 2020 those were pitting. I’m more worried about the paint along the rockers and doors.

I ran -5 for a while, and I never had any serious issues. Like the other poster said, the fender flairs chipped, but stock that happens so whatever.

Thanks. Maybe I’ll run them and see. First time doing anything more than -12

Worst case scenario, if it’s really ringing it up throw on some Rekgen XLs and that’ll help it out.

Couple things I would like to mention. I’ve got +4mm rims with 255/80/17 tires. I’ve got stock mudflaps and sliders. I do drive on FSRs quite often and I’ve got like a million paint chips at bottom half of my doors and my rocker panel is peppered with rocks. I can’t even imagine how bad it would be if had negative offset, mind you I do spend a lot of time off-road.

Not this one, who knows, I go back and forth. I am mixing it up with only a small 2” lift this time. I maxed out 5100s on my 2019 and didn’t care for it.

IMHO 2” lift is perfect on these trucks. My truck drives just like it did stock, well even better with better suspension. I wouldn’t do more than that.

I run a 17x9-12 with 295/70 tires, the tread sticks out of the fenders maybe a half inch and I have not had any paint knicks or dings from road wear. The -25 offset will probably push your wheel out a full inch. The fuel variant is a similar wheel, lightweight as well. KMC Impact OL is another similar wheel. Both are available and in stock.

Variants look sick, I am running them on my truck. I can get anything from fuel, kmc, icon, and raceline if you are interested.

I also have -10 offset on my wheels. I do have a few minor dings and nicks from rocks being thrown off my tires. Not enough to bother me because it’s a truck not a show car, but I could see it bothering someone who is super careful with their paint.

If you get some mudlfaps that would also prevent it, I just haven’t gotten around to that yet and my truck didn’t come with them.

I used spacers to kick the OEM wheels out for better look after putting the fender flares on. The tires looked a little lost in there. It also gave the truck a better stance. No more understeer in turns.

After the lift new wheels and new rubber. 0 offset KMC's with no spacers.

It's also important to know where people are doing their daily driving. For example, a -15 in Florida might not do much damage but could ruin the paint on a truck that lives in Vermont.
