I recently put an MBRP turn down exhaust on my 2021 Tacoma. Before I put the exhaust I had k&n drop in filter along with the misimoto silicone intake tubbing with the OTT tune. Truck ran great no lag or anything. Fast forward I put the exhaust on now it has a lag. Anyone else have this issue if so what did you do to fix it. Thank you all in advance.

Likely just perception, no way a muffler would change anything.

Agreed it's likely placebo effect, but you could disconnect the battery and reset the OEM learning procedure if it won't fuck your tune.

It's not in your head. I just bought my 2020 3.5 4x4 DC with the MBRP cat back exhaust already installed. When test driven, dealership wouldn't allow my wife to go on the freeway, probably due to the incessant drone the thing made at 65mph, and the Tacoma "gear hunting" exacerbated. Bought a stock number for $80 on FB, and the difference was night and day. When the difference in performance is noticeable enough for her to mention it to me, I know that that's not a small thing. Vehicles now are so fine tuned with thousands of measurements and micro adjustments every minute, you can't expect to change inputs out of factory parameters and expect good results. At a minimum, a tune specific to the vehicle and parts you're installing would be necessary. My personal thoughts on aftermarket is that tens if not hundreds of engineers who are exponentially more intelligent, knowledgeable, and with vast amounts more of experience than myself were coupled with manufacturers with deep pockets, spent untold hrs of R & D making these machines operate at peak levels, without failing, for hundreds of thousands of miles..... but screw all that, I know best and let's straight pipe this bitch.... common

I don't have the same exhaust, but I do have one. Ran the stock one for 55k miles, and nearly all of that tuned. I noticed no difference when I put on my aftermarket exhaust.

Wrong so I recently purchased the AFE momentum gt with secondary scoop . I'm tuned , catback mrbp performance XP exhaust, and k&n performance intake. Well I wanted to update my intake to the afe , wanted something different. Got a great price for afe. Long story short and working with tuner ,we came to conclusion the the afe had by far worse air flow than the k&n . So I'm passed return for refund took it as a lesson learned. Sometimes mods can backfire.

So what I was experiencing was lag off the line lag and on uphill grades. So much it was frustrating to drive my truck. Tuner and I tried custom air flow metered tunes, thinking the maf sensor was getting too much air . It was actually not getting enough air. So many customers talk trash that the k&n is garbage, nah dude they been doing this for a long time and I stand behind them more than I did before.

So to wrap this up , yes one little mod can make affect . Rather be something minor or major. Op without a doubt I'm sure you will get this figured out with help of others . Took me and tuner almost a month of different tunes and test. OMG giving me flashbacks of lag Good luck

So I ask this, you had stock exhaust prior to new exhaust correct? I would contact your tuner or Ott for customer support

No this does not work like that . You have to have tech stream or vf tuner to complete a lv reset.
