Thanks man. I have done some of these already, but I'll look into more of these for sure. pusher fans are on the list.. might need to really check for airflow restrictions as well.

On mine just going from the highflow homer taco grill back to a stock 09 one I would briefly see temps peak at 190 when they never did before. With the newer honeycomb on they peaked at 188. I do plan on going back to the homertaco grill but will need to reinforce the outer painted surface to handle speeds over 120+

I def want to find a better solution for my efan. It needs a better shroud or maybe I’ll shell out the $$$ for the dual fan setup. I have noticed with all the offroading the fan has been eating the 3d printed arms more than expected lol.

interesting.. and good to know. My homertaco grill is barely holding onto life at this point anyways.. so maybe I'll try a stock honeycomb style grill.

I havent dove down that rabbit hole too much.. I'm purposely trying not to.. so that's partially why I'm wanting to just stay with the mech fan and have the pushers just as helpers. Are those mounts/arms able to be machined?

I think they could be, but honestly a proper shroud would be better in my opinion that way it would free up room to work on the belts with out having to remove the fan shroud + fan.

Yep I have done all that. going into 4Lo when offroad or changing gears helps but doesn't do the trick. The stock trans cooler is made for a 4500 lbs truck or slightly higher its not make for the fat trucks that we have no days so it makes sense. I never had an issue until I added weight and the S/C, so combined its a recipe for it being an issue. The larger Trans cooler is doing very well and Fan helps keep it down when its pushing hard. If anything I may to go larger. Regular driving the truck does very well its only when its pushed hard offroad that it becomes an issue now. It does get a bit hot when its hot out at standstill but is just north of 210 which the A/C doesn't like. I have a few other things to do but overall its compensating for all the other crap I have added.

Louvres and Zpp S/C pump are on deck. I have the eFan that I'm TBD on. T-Stat was tentative as well. I have considered beefing up the oil section as @Lucario Runner suggested. Any thoughts or suggestions there?

@XPOTRPR this comes back to the thread we all had been discussion for a custom shroud. That is the best course of action if we can get one done. Could be a combo of machined arms on top of a shroud and we have one bad ass fan setup.

I know on my FJ if I overheat the trans I get a trans temp light. Have you seen that come on? Also, I think I misread your post. I thought you were saying that you already had the extra trans cooler installed.

You know those are really great points. From your pictures of your front end, it looks like you've lost about 2/3's of your open air space up front between the bumper, lights, and grill. It would be way cheap to remove the grill and led light bar for a quick test.

I’ve been meaning to reply to my overheating issues since the URD headers, just haven’t had the time but really quick I’ll say that up until I installed the headers, I never had any consistent overheating issues when idling like I do now

35’s on stock gearing, heavy as balls…

everything in coolant system brand new from head gaskets to thermostat to oversized mishimoto rad

those aftermarket headers dissipate a shit ton of heat that the factory manifolds held in.

Noticed a couple days ago my aFe intake filter box has distorted and warped heavily from the heat if that says anything

No sorry, I meant the added tow package cooler. I haven't seen the Trans temp light, no. But I also notice the rise pretty soon and get the heat going ASAP.. so maybe not hot enough to register. I'd like to replace the tow package cooler with the Mishimoto HD one.

I guess I can start doing some tests. Gather temps via torque (I need to figure out the PID thing so I can add Trans temps) and then pull a bunch of stuff from the front end and compare. Especially if I need to pull it all apart anyways to start replacing things.

Well dang @Gilmorec61, now I'm wondering if I should install the equal length headers that I have.

Would a wrap help any or is that a bad idea on coated headers?

Have been wondering the same. Saw the heat wrap and reflective tape while browsing Mishimoto. How much of a benefit would it be to cover and wrap as much as possible. Or would it impact it negatively in certain areas/applications.

Nice. Looks like they would clip in given the clips on the underside. Your cutout would need to be precise.

interested this as well. I had some extra and started adding it to the AC lines. (Originally got it to shield the transmission lines near the header which I have heard from folks helps a good amount on the transmission. These were wraps that can be removed vs a knomex wrap or heat tape.

That’s what I did, but have no before/after temps to prove anything. Figured it was $10 and made sense in theory.

Didn't even think about the Transmission lines next to the Headers. That definitely doesn't help.
