I wouldn’t mind some 4.88s for my MT. When I upgraded to 33s, I lost a bit of hearing, especially noticeable in first and R. 2WD low mod makes a world of a difference.

All my exhaust mods in past cars were just to sound good! And I spend good money to make it happen! I love spending money to make me feel good! It's way better than spending money on stupid no fun shit... like the 20 grand I spend removing hazardous trees growing by my house...

I have another vehicle that's a 6 speed MT, and its 4.10s come out almost exactly to the taco's AT 5.29 gearing. It's so much more of a pleasure to dive, especially now I can idle up my crowded driveway

 

Wish I had a house so I could spend 20k on removing hazardous trees…

 

Well, more like Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.

Definitely drink way more than I should, oh well.

 

If a tune only boosts pedal response, then why not just use a pedal commander or something similar? At least you could then adjust it yourself.
I have no dog in this fight, not going to get a tune at any point in the near future, just wondering...

 

I’m sure the tune boosts power some, just not a lot in my experience. Honestly if I bought a truck over again I probably would go the pedal commander route. With the OTT tune, I still have no low end torque. Floor it in 2nd at 10 mph and it really does not want to move. Maybe one of those SFOB tunes would do it but there’s really not a lot of info about those and folks swear OTT and the other modern/recent ones are better.

my solution will be keep the tune I have and put 5.29s in the diffs on smallish tires. It will move much better after that.

 

I remember reading a pedal commander being for a motorcycle...if my memory serves me well...for a Y2K series Gixxer.

My Sport with an OTT Tune and Gear Lock is quite the JOY at the moment.

 

They have them for bikes, but I believe theyre mostly for vehicles.
A few friends had one in their Jeeps. They work well for what they are intended to do....pedal response and throttle sensitivity.
