    So under 60K miles
    Transmission starts to slip.
Take it in for the warranty to cover.

I have a supercharger under the hood. Said they wont cover it butttt
    Magnuson Moss says differently…

Edit: Thanks guys on some sound advice.
I have uncovered a lot and I again look to y’all for some more advice. I hope that some if these things being said help out the next guy. SC are still awesome and worth it but hopefully with all that is said the next person has a better compass before installing.

Depends whats making the transmission slip. If it turned out to a electrical/electronic component, thats not covered. Gotta be mechanical.

Whoa, slow down, lawyers cost a lot of money, unless you have a friend who is one and will work for free.
Follow the chain of command and common sense. Politely ask the service manager to show you why in writing why it isn't covered want (Toyota documentation stating their policy and what they found while inspecting your truck). Also ask him if he was able to verify that your mods caused the failure, and provide the evidence. In the meantime do your own research find evidence of slipping transmission on stock tacomas (Same problem, but with no supercharger). Also look for posts on Tacomas with supercharges that got their transmission warrantied. If he denies again, ask to set up a meeting with the service director/GM to go over all the documentation. Dont forget to remind them they sell lots of trucks in their showroom all with Non-Toyota lifts and non stock size tires...Do they still honor the warranty on those trucks?

I think it will be tough with a supercharger, they have to prove the supercharger caused the damage. How do you "Prove That"??? Whats going to make them take the time to investigate it? I imagine they are just going to say 'Cause we said so', and try to wear you down. I am not sure how someone can tell if damage was done by a supercharge or just abusing it. Or did the supercharge enable you to abuse it?

    Good Luck

Depends on what is causing the transmission problems.

Once you threaten “lawyer” to a dealership, they are going to cease all communications and refer your atty to their atty.
What does the MFG suggest you do? And where was it installed?

LOL! Yeah, go get you a hot shot supercharger lawyer! Maybe that hot chick from the "My Cousin Vinny" movie will come testify at your trial.

PS: even if this is not the fault of the super-charger, it is the fault of the super charger.

I second the advice to push back on the dealership. Do some research, print out the statute summary and take it to the service manager. Also get the full copy of your warranty statement and read it carefully and have the service manager show you the wording within your warranty that justifies denying the warranty repair.

Next I would try another dealer if possible. Next take it to Toyota corporate. As a last resort lawyer up.

You will lose. Magnuson Moss act applies to items that maintain OEM specifications. For drivetrain, this means aftermarket parts can’t exceed the performance capacity which a supercharger definitely does.

It doesn’t matter if the supercharger is or is not the cause. It simply being there gives them plausible deniability.

    ^ THIS! ^

Your transmission and drive train were designed to be reliable with a given amount of power, the instant you put the super charger on there, all bets were off regarding the longevity of your transmission (and your warranty for that matter).

Sorry man. You have a snowball's chance in Hell of getting transmission covered under warranty with a supercharger. You can get the best lawyer in the world and he will still lose. Aftermarket power is the cause of denial.
MM does not say differently. There is a good read on MM up in the sticky threads.

I mean what if I had taken it off returned it to stock they would’ve fixed it and would’ve been done why? Because they didn't see the supercharger. It only became a problem because it was in there

Supercharger pushes more HP through the drivetrain than it was designed to handle. Transmission being stressed by more HP than factory spec. How would you think the supercharger would have NOTHING to do with transmission failure? I doubt you even find a lawyer to take this case.

This is why you won't get covered. Maybe Magnuson will pay for it.

Its just weird that all Im reading it that they cant deny without proof. It’s ridiculous that they can just say no with 0 evidence besides that its there. Hypothetically what if i just had the cover to the supercharger and had it sitting on top think they’d say the same thing as I just show them it was just a cover. just goofy

Doesn’t Toyota approve of the magnuson supercharger? I thought the occasional dealer sold them installed.
