They just did a stainless cat-back in my truck and I'm happy. I've been using them for over 20 years.
Better then going to a regular mechanic because they only deal with the exhaust so no extra bs than what you are there for.

I had a guy I used for a while but he did a main pipe in the old Rav4 and it rotted in 2 years. Wasn't top dollar but I expected a bit more.

    What did yours cost roughly?

I want to say like 550 with 3" stainless. I'll try to find the receipt tomorrow.
They give you options of mufflers, resonators and tailpipe so prices will vary

That's not terrible, worst case mine needs the whole back part and I'm not using 3".

I've seen a few SR5s and Limiteds around and don't mind the look of them. I wish they came with a 4-Auto option like the 4Runners and Sequoias do/did. I love having that in my F-150. That's the one thing holding me back from seriously considering one. Toyota is the only full size truck that doesn't have that - well, maybe Nissan too but I think the Titan is going away anyway.

Especially since Ford dropped the SuperCab Lariats and I could still get a Double Cab Limited Tundra.

It really shouldn't have been an obstacle - both Ford and Toyota use Borg Warner for their transfer cases and Toyota had one that held up to the Sequoia just fine.

It’s just the weight game. The auto transfer case adds weight, reducing cargo capacity, which should impact towing numbers. The Tundra used to be on the lower end of the spectrum regarding weight carrying capacity, auto 4wd would further reduce it. I know, I know, but it towed the challenger…
A lot of half tons now days have a lower cargo capacity than Tacoma or Frontier. It’s an important vehicle spec a lot of people ignore.

That grill looks like a cheese grater to me. Otherwise, it's a good looking truck, but I'd like a more normal looking grill.

Just a Thanks again! to Jason for the woolwax on the truck and the Wrangler. Realized this morning after walking out of Home Depot and tried to throw a few things in the back, under the bed cover, that I had never reinstalled the spare or the trailer hitch! Nice to have a midweek day off to get a few things done. I was just catching up on the NE stuff here, belated congrats to Drew on the new crib! Bill in Plymouth

Yeah, I know the higher trim levels on the F-150 tend to lose payload fast. Mine is about 1750 which is pretty good for a loaded Lariat. But if you get something like a Platinum with the giant sunroof I think it's common to be around 1300. The 2.7 can be pretty bad for payload too - my 2018 XLT 2.7 was 1485 and that was an extended cab without heavy options like the FX4 skid plates and the large fuel tank. I could see a more loaded crew cab 2.7 being around 1100.

    That's like 3 average Americans.

Jokes aside, I'm around 220 - if I grabbed 4 of my friends who are all about my size, they each have an overnight bag and a soda, you're at payload capacity just there o_O

My father was too heavy for the average scale and my mom's definitely up there. Both of my siblings are large people too. Somehow I'm 5'9" and around 150 lbs. Girlfriend is 5'0" and about 95 lbs. We've decided against having kids, but if we did they'd probably be shrimp size for their whole lives.

Oh I feel ya, I'm 5 10 - my Sicilian side is showing. Working on bringing that down though (I'm closer to 210 than 220 at least).

It'll come to a head if I do the AT - no way I'll maintain this weight for 6 months on the AT

My very petite daughter is 5'0" and has a new boyfriend who is about 5'9". My 12 year old grandson who is going to be well over 6' asked her about the "projected height of any potential future cousins."

That's the whole point, 4 adults at 200# each, you're at 800 lbs, plus say an extra 100# of 'stuff' in the cabin that naturally accumulates and you're left with 4-500# for tongue weight if you're towing say a boat or camper. Campers these days can have tongue weights well above 800# and now you're 'legally' overweight even though the truck will look and handle just fine. I'm definitely an overkill mentality, but that's one of the reasons that pushed me to go for a 3/4 ton truck in the first place. Now, I got 99 problems but payload ain't one

I'm of a different mentality. Heck, even the Taco is overkill - but I have fun with it, so it was worth it. But realistically, the BEST car for me was a plug in hybrid. If and when I need a truck for a few hours a year, just rent a uhaul. The cost of a rental is way less than the up front + ongoing maintenance costs to own even a mini truck like the tacoma. Now that my commute is even shorter, and I ride my bike mostly, that's even MORE true.

I'm just not a camper person. More power to you, glad you got a truck that can handle it too. I'd just prefer to kip up in a hammock in the woods, or get a hotel room.

Speaking of which - I bet there are some discount apartments about to hit the marker in FL :spy:

Something about a hammock that my body is cool with 4 hours of sleep lol

I haven’t hammocked in like a decade, have had dogs and I like to have them with me in the sleeping bag 3BCD7EC0-34FA-4B61-847E-7EFE709C926E.jpg

I was in the hammock in NMW, dog in the cab. I tied off one side to the roof rack, other side to a tree. Worked out pretty well.

Also - we don't have kids, that would change the desire to cab/hammock camp, etc.

One of my favorite parts of the trips I took in the past couple years was the journey itself. The "holy crap, I had no plans to even stop here, but this little town called Mountain View, Arkansas, is the highlight of my trip!" (True story) - so I get the desire to travel and see things.

Just big trailers are obnoxious in my experience. You can't just swing off and hit a gas station, they're pretty limited on height and being accessible. Just because you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD. Can't drop in on a random truck stop and roll over for the night. Can't drive down a random road and kip up on the shores of Lake Mead at Kingman's Wash (To be fair, I wouldn't, but there were some people who got some trailers into some pretty unique spots down there, I was impressed).

To each their own like I said. There's an industry around (a) big motorhomes (b) big travel trailers (c) small motorhomes and vans (d) small travel trailers (e) cab camping (f) tenting (g) hammock camping (the list goes one) - clearly, they have niches.
