    I removed the hood seal against the cowl, but now that we are back on the top of hot engine bays I think I am going to reinstall it. All it did for me was make sure I keep the recirculate ac setting on. I imagine spacers may be able to move more air in this department.

    Thoughts on placement? This is about as wide as I can go and should be inside the bracing still.

    Or I can go in more to be more away from bracing.

    put it close to where you have it, wherever the hood braces aren't

    Also agree with @Norton. The center heat extractor behind the radiator/before the engine is best place for heat extraction. Don't know about everyone else, but I never ran my fender liners so I'm sure most of the lt header heat vented out there

    Am I the only guy that headers actually cooled the truck down more than stock manifolds? Mine were ceramic coated tho. Losing the hot ass cats helped me

    I bet that coating helped. If/when I ever get to mine they have to be shorties so would have to get the rest coated but I guess some part helps

    The URD Spec U headers I installed had the coating as well. I strongly believe it alleviated much of my under hood temps. My center console does get pretty warm if parked for a bit even still lol I like to call the cup holders my drink heaters.

    Good point on the accelerated corrosion rated with the wrap...

    Same here + easily reversible

    Gotcha gotcha. Yeah I know without a doubt clogged radiators have gotten myself and many of my friends several times. First thing I always suggest looking at for those that offroad

    Interesting observation

    I'm with ya here

    No notice any decrease in overheating with it removed?

    I think at the time I thought it helped but either things have gotten hotter or it didn't help enough really to make a difference.

    this is exactly what I was referring. So thank you. Pros and Cons to both methods. The mid high is where it will go then. I like I will go as close to the brace as I can. These are not super wide so some flexibility. I’m the photos I posted they looked to be right above the headers so seems like a good spot to start.
    Thanks! :sawzall::sawzall::sawzall:

    I can't leave anything well enough alone
    Wondering when someone was going to mention that, mine has been ported and open for years, and I do see the mirage effect in certain conditions. But my truck isn't supercharged yet, no headers yet, so not a real comparison point.
